On December 11, at Truong Thi Secondary School (Vinh City), the Department of Information and Communications in coordination with the Department of Education and Training, the Provincial Youth Union and the Nghe An Provincial Post Office launched the 47th UPU International Letter Writing Competition.

According to Mr. Phan Nguyen Hao - Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications in 2016, Nghe An province organized this contest for the first time and had 1 student win the "promising writer" award.

“Nghe An is a land of learning, the cradle of many generations of students who have achieved high results in international competitions, but the UPU International Letter Writing Competition is a relatively new playground, so the awards achieved are very modest compared to other provinces and cities,” said Mr. Hao.

The organizers of the contest also hope that the letter writing movement of the students will spread strongly, promote the tradition of studiousness, affirm to the world the qualities and intelligence of the Vietnamese people in general and Nghe An in particular. Through the letters, the world will know that the dream and aspiration of the Vietnamese people to conquer the universe is limitless.
