Nghe An: 3 rare monitor lizards discovered on a passenger bus
(Baonghean.vn) - The working group of the Traffic Police Station of Dien Chau district (Nghe An) has just discovered 3 rare monitor lizards weighing 11 kg on a passenger bus on the North-South route.
Accordingly, at 8:20 a.m. on May 27, while patrolling and controlling traffic at km 418+300 of National Highway 1A in Dien Hong commune, Dien Chau district, the Dien Chau Traffic Police Station Working Group (PC67 Nghe An) discovered a passenger bus with license plate 20B - 010.96 with many suspicious signs and immediately signaled to stop for inspection.

Upon checking the passenger compartment, the working group discovered a large foam box containing three rare monitor lizards weighing 11 kg.
This is a wild animal classified in group 2B with a high risk of extinction. After checking that there were no invoices or documents, driver Vu Van Thuy (born in 1975), residing in Coc Sua hamlet, Hoang Nong commune, Dai Tu district, Thai Nguyen, was temporarily detained by the working group along with the evidence and handed over to the Dien Chau District Forest Protection Department for handling according to their authority.
