Nghe An collects the remains of 65 martyrs who died in Laos during nearly 6 months of the 2024 - 2025 dry season

After nearly 6 months of the 2024 - 2025 dry season, the Martyrs' Remains Collection Team of the Nghe An Provincial Military Command searched for and collected a total of 65 remains of Vietnamese martyrs and experts who died in Laos.

On April 12, according to information from the Collection Team of the Nghe An Provincial Military Command, the unit has just discovered and collected a martyr's remains and some relics at coordinates 18,490 - 79,800, in the Tham Xe mountain area, Loong Cheng village, Loong Cheng district, Xay Som Bun province (Laos).

The remains of the martyrs were found at a depth of more than 1m underground, with intact bones and many accompanying relics such as: AK ammunition boxes, multi-purpose shovels, M04 masks, tanks, and Vietnamese army canvas shoe soles... Currently, the remains have been brought back by the Collection Team for burial and worship at the Memorial House of President Ho Chi Minh and the martyrs who were Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Laos, located in Phon Sa Van town, Xieng Khouang province. At the same time, the team continues to expand the search area in the area around the location where the remains were discovered.

As of April 12, 2025, after nearly 6 monthsDeploy search and collection work in the dry season 2024 - 2025, The Martyr Remains Collection Team of Nghe An Provincial Military Command has searched and collected a total of 65 remains of Vietnamese martyrs and experts who died in Laos. Specifically: 58 remains were collected in Xieng Khouang province, 6 remains in Xay Som Bun province and 1 remains in Vientiane province.

All 65 martyrs' remains were brought to the Memorial House of President Ho Chi Minh and Vietnamese martyrs who died in Laos to worship, demonstrating the morality of "When drinking water, remember its source" and the special affection between the two peoples of Vietnam and Laos.
