Carrying out two tasks of teaching and epidemic prevention in parallel

The 2020-2021 school year is the first year that the entire sector has implemented the replacement of textbooks according to the new General Education Program for first-grade students. Following the directives, up to now, all 504 primary education institutions in the province have implemented teaching for first grade in accordance with regulations and have created consensus and unanimity in implementation.

In the first semester, despite difficulties, the sector had to carry out two tasks in parallel: teaching and epidemic prevention, but the whole sector effectively implemented tasks for all levels of education, ensuring improvement of education quality.

In addition, the sector has strengthened international integration in education and training. It encourages key schools to access advanced educational programs to focus on international integration in the direction of creating study abroad opportunities for students of the province after graduating from junior high school and high school.

This school year, the industry also implemented the project "Improving the quality of foreign language teaching and learning in educational institutions in Nghe An province, period 2020 - 2025, orientation to 2030".

The construction of national standard schools, educational quality assessment, safe schools, and quality assurance are focused on and put into practice.

During this semester, 135 schools were inspected and recognized, including 20 newly recognized schools and 115 schools re-recognized and upgraded; Up to now, there are 1,055 schools meeting national standards, reaching a rate of 76.66% (including 318 kindergartens, 487 primary schools, 211 secondary schools and 39 high schools meeting national standards).

However, besides the achieved results, at the end of the first semester, due to many reasons, there were still plans and projects that had reached the preliminary and final review period, but had not been implemented according to the registered plan.

Through inspection and examination, it was found that some managers of educational institutions did not perform their functions and tasks systematically and thoroughly, resulting in shortcomings and limitations, especially in the field of financial management; or in administrative reform.

In this first semester, although there have been many propaganda and education measures to raise awareness and prevention skills, there are still drowning accidents and unfortunate injuries to students in the province.

At the preliminary conference, representatives of the Department of Education and Training and a number of schools also had many opinions on implementing the school year's tasks, revolving around issues such as planning the school network, organizing the enhanced English program, building a boarding school model for primary school, and school health issues.

Based on the opinions of the units, in the concluding speech of the conference, the Director of the Department of Education and Training directly answered questions and proposed solutions for the coming time.

Accordingly, in 2021, the industry will continue to develop plans and implement education development plans to ensure reasonable scale.period 2021 - 2030, vision to 2050. At the same time, complete the draft Sustainable Development Strategyeducation and trainingin Nghe An province for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2045; direct educational institutions to develop and approve the School Development Strategy for the period 2020-2025 according to the mission, vision and in accordance with the local educational situation.

At the same time, continue to strengthen facilities and resources to ensure the quality of educational and training activities in a synchronous, modern and appropriate direction to meet actual needs. From the next school year, the Department will also encourage the increase of English learning in schools with many priorities in facilities, admission and the industry's plan to continue to directly enroll talented students in high schools.Englishoutstanding

Entering the second semester at a time when the epidemic is complicated, the director of the department also requested the entire industry to prepare plans to implement teaching in the form ofonline teachingand restart televised teaching.

In the new context, the whole industry also needs to change the form of management, organization of teaching and learning. In which, teachers must educate students with all their love and must be passionate, responsible, always improve their work and not be satisfied with success.

Digital transformation must also be accelerated in schools, with principals taking the lead. On the Department’s side, at the end of the school year, the effectiveness of schools and managers will be evaluated based on the Ministry of Education and Training’s criteria, and principals must self-score and provide specific, substantive evidence.
