(Baonghean.vn) - School principals and teachers in charge of classes with students violating the rules must be held accountable to their superiors at the end of the school year. Depending on the severity, they may not be considered for emulation or their emulation rank may be downgraded.
That is one of the important contents that the Director of the Department of Education and Training has just directed in the official dispatch on the afternoon of April 4 regarding strengthening direction, prevention and overcoming school violence.
Previously, in recent days, school violence occurred at a number of educational institutions in the province, with some students fighting and beating each other, seriously affecting the reputation and image of the school, negatively impacting the educational environment, causing anxiety among parents and students and outrage in public opinion.

To overcome the above situation, the Director of the Department of Education and Training (DOET) requested that the Departments of Education and Training and affiliated units strictly implement Decree 80/2017/ND-CP dated July 17, 2017 of the Prime Minister regulating a safe, healthy, friendly educational environment, preventing school violence; overcoming violations of teachers' ethics and school violence.
The Department also requires units to inspect and review the management work and the process of educating ethics, lifestyle, and life skills for students at schools, detect stages that are still neglected or not done carefully to promptly overcome them.
In addition, it is necessary to regularly grasp the situation, strengthen the dissemination and education of law, psychological counseling, grasp the developments in students' ideology, ethics and lifestyle; coordinate with the police and local authorities to promptly detect, prevent and handle violations of the law and school violence by students inside and outside of school.
In particular, in the coming time, the Principal and homeroom teachers are required to spend a certain amount of time during flag-raising and class meetings to thoroughly understand and remind about school violence, school security and safety, and cultural behavior. The Department of Education and Training will organize regular or surprise inspections and checks on the implementation of regulations on a safe, healthy, friendly educational environment and the prevention of school violence at units throughout the sector.
When a violation occurs, it must be reported immediately to the superior management agency, and at the same time, it must be promptly inspected, verified, clarified, and the relevant collectives and individuals must be seriously and promptly handled, absolutely not covering up, taking lightly, or handling it objectively.
On the same day, the Department of Education and Training also sent an official dispatch to the Chairmen of the People's Committees of districts, cities and towns, requesting localities to direct the Department of Education and Training at all levels and related sectors to strengthen the implementation of school violence prevention work and ensure school security.
