(Baonghean.vn) - According to the Provincial People's Committee, in the coming time, Nghe An will organize working delegations to visit and work in the United States, Cuba, Japan, India, and Singapore to organize investment and trade promotion programs in these countries.
Recently, the Department of Foreign Affairs has worked with the Departments and Offices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Embassies of the United States, Japan, Singapore, India, and Cuba in Vietnam to prepare.
According to the Foreign Affairs Program of Nghe An province in 2023, one of the goals and requirements is to actively and proactively integrate internationally, focusing on economic diplomacy to contribute to ensuring independence, sovereignty, national security and territorial integrity, mobilizing external resources and creating favorable international conditions for socio-economic development, enhancing the position of the province; creating favorable conditions and environment for economic sectors to exchange and cooperate with foreign partners.
In particular, regarding economic diplomacy, Nghe An determined to continue implementing the Directives, plans, and directions of the Central Government as well as the province in economic diplomacy work in the province in depth and practically; synchronously implementing solutions to remove difficulties for investors and import-export enterprises in the province.
Nghe An also focuses on effectively exploiting cooperation with established foreign partners; accompanying and supporting provincial enterprises in cooperation and connection with foreign countries, taking advantage of opportunities brought about by new trends; making the most of ODA, FDI, NGO support sources and other resources to serve socio-economic development.
In particular, to effectively carry out investment attraction, trade and tourism promotion activities, Nghe An has determined to participate in overseas investment attraction, trade and tourism promotion delegations organized by the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and relevant ministries and branches.
At the same time, the province organizes delegations to promote investment, trade and tourism in countries and key partners by country and territory: Japan, Korea, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan; India, the United States, Canada, European countries, Thailand, Singapore,...
Nghe An has the 12th largest economic scale out of 63 provinces and cities. In particular, investment promotion activities have achieved many positive results, contributing to the total FDI capital invested in Nghe An in 2022 ranking 10th out of 63 provinces and cities; in the first 8 months of the year, it ranked 8th out of 63 provinces and cities with a total capital of 890 million USD. According to the Southeast Economic Zone Management Board, Nghe An will soon grant certificates and investment licenses to 2 new projects, including 1 project worth 110 million USD and 1 project worth 43 million USD, thus the total capital will exceed the "billion dollar" mark to reach 1.037 billion USD.
