Nghe An attends exchange program with Korean enterprises in Hanoi
(Baonghean.vn) - Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Ngoc Hoa emphasized: Nghe An always identifies Korea as a leading important partner in the province's international integration strategy. This is one of the important external resources to help Nghe An province develop more strongly.
On the evening of December 9, the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) in Hanoi coordinated with the Korean Embassy in Vietnam to organize the program "Exchange between Korean enterprises and leaders of provinces and cities of Vietnam".
Attending the program on the Korean side were Mr. Kim Dong Bae - Counselor of the Korean Embassy in Vietnam, Mr. Yun Ok Hyun - Chief Representative of KCCI and representatives of Korean corporations and enterprises.
On the Vietnamese side, there was comrade Tran Duy Dong - Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment and representatives of leaders of provinces and cities in the country.
On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrade Le Ngoc Hoa - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and Mr. Tran Khanh Thuc - Deputy Director in charge of the Department of Foreign Affairs.
Largest FDI partner in Vietnam
Speaking at the program, Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Tran Huy Dong emphasized:KoreaAs a leading economic partner of Vietnam, Vietnam is the leading economic cooperation partner in the New Southern Policy, and Korea's largest economic partner in the ASEAN region.
South Korea is the largest FDI partner in Vietnam, contributing more than 25% of total export value and gradually building strategic supply chains in Vietnam. In 2020, despite the impact of Covid-19, South Korea's FDI in Vietnam by November was 3.7 billion USD, ranking second (after Singapore at 8.07 billion USD).
After 28 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1992, the Vietnam - Korea strategic partnership is developing better than ever in all fields.
Korea has become Vietnam’s leading trade and investment partner. Not only has it developed at the national level, but the relationship between Vietnamese and Korean localities is also very good.
Promoting investment attraction between Nghe An and Korea
As a province located in the North Central region of Vietnam, Nghe An province also established good relationships with Korean localities such as Gyeonggi province or at the district level, Vinh city cooperates with Namyangju city, Gyeonggi province.
Speaking at the program, Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Le Ngoc Hoa informed about the socio-economic situation, introduced the potential, strengths, and investment attraction of Nghe An province to delegates, especially Korean enterprises.

PartnershipNghe An- In recent years, Korea has made strong progress in many fields, notably the FDI field. In Nghe An province, there are currently 28 FDI projects from Korea with a total committed investment capital of 175.76 billion VND in diverse industries such as garment, electronic components manufacturing, telecommunications equipment, entertainment, etc.
Although the scale is still small, and the number of projects is not many, the activities are very effective. In particular, in recent times, the cooperation between the two provinces has been quite vibrant with many notable activities such as co-organizing the Korea - Nghe An Meeting 2020 program and investment promotion programs in Korea... which have brought many good results.

Nghe An prioritizes and focuses on attracting quality projects with high added value, spillover effects, connecting global production and supply chains, high technology content, environmentally friendly, sustainable development, with commitments to technology transfer and highly skilled labor.
