Nghe An: Pilot project to support businesses to voluntarily comply with customs laws
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of November 4, in Vinh City, Nghe An Customs Department organized propaganda and signed a memorandum of understanding with enterprises participating in the pilot program to support enterprises to voluntarily comply with customs laws.

At the conference, representativesNghe An Customs Departmentsaid that despite many efforts, the rate of enterprises complying with customs laws and regulations is still high on average; many errors in the process of declaring procedures cause enterprises to face risks in import and export. Therefore, the General Department of Customs has implemented this program to promote and support enterprises to improve their compliance level, towards voluntary compliance. Thereby, contributing to improving management efficiency, implementing well the requirements of reform, modernization, improving the business environment, and enhancing national competitiveness according to Resolution 02/NQ-CP dated January 10, 2022 of the Government.

The content of propaganda and support for enterprises focuses on clarifying the recording of general information about enterprises, main groups of imported and exported goods; violations that enterprises often commit during the declaration process and typical violations in the area so that customs authorities can warn and recommend factors that reduce the level of compliance of enterprises. Through clarifying some benefits when participating in the program, the Customs Department also outlines some obligations and sanctions for violations.
In the coming time, the Customs Department will organize seminars and training courses to improve compliance; periodically hold meetings to provide information to selected pilot enterprises... Nghe An Customs strives to achieve after 5 yearsgreen channelFor about 80% of enterprises, over 2/3 of enterprises comply with customs laws at level 2 and level 3; reduce the rate of enterprises declaring procedures and documents according to the yellow channel...

This is a pilot program to support enterprises of the General Department of Customs; the whole country has 190,000 import-export enterprises, but this time 266 enterprises were selected for pilot support. Nghe An has 4 enterprises selected for pilot out of a total of 300 enterprises participating in import-export. The program will be implemented within 2 years and will be raised from the average compliance level to the high level; on that basis, it will be summarized and evaluated before being widely applied to levels 2 and 3.

At the conference, business representatives and leaders of Nghe An Customs Department spoke, shared some more information about the current import and export situation and signed a memorandum of understanding to implement the voluntary customs law compliance program.
Four enterprises in the province signed a memorandum of understanding, including The Vissai Ninh Binh Cement Company,TH Milk Food Joint Stock Company, Hoa Sen Steel One Member Co., Ltd., Vinh Plastic - Packaging Joint Stock Company.
