Nghe An opens to traffic the road costing over 1,265 billion VND from Do Luong to Nghi Thiet
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of April 29, the People's Committee of Nghe An province solemnly held a ceremony to technically open the road from Hoa Son, Do Luong to Nghi Thiet, Nghi Loc.

The route from Hoa Son commune, Do Luong district to Nghi Thiet commune, Nghi Loc district, includes three projects: The project to invest in the construction of a traffic road connecting N5 road from the Southeast Economic Zone to Hoa Son, Do Luong, invested by the Department of Transport, has a length of 29.1 km, a roadbed width of 12m, a road surface width of 11m, a design speed of 80km/h, with a total investment of over 1,265 billion VND.

Attending the ceremony were Politburo members: Tran Dai Quang - President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; Vuong Dinh Hue - Deputy Prime Minister. Comrade Nguyen Sinh Hung - Former Politburo member, former Chairman of the National Assembly. Party Central Committee members: Phan Dinh Trac - Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission, Nguyen Thanh Binh - Deputy Head of the Central Organization Commission, Ho Duc Phoc - State Auditor General, Nguyen The Ky - General Director of the Voice of Vietnam, Senior Lieutenant General Bui Van Nam - Deputy Minister of Public Security, Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong - Commander of Military Region 4, Nguyen Thi Thanh - Secretary of the Ninh Binh Provincial Party Committee, Le Dinh Son - Secretary of the Ha Tinh Provincial Party Committee, and leaders of central ministries, departments and branches. On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrades: Nguyen Dac Vinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Nguyen Van Thong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and comrades of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of leaders of departments, branches, sectors and leaders of localities in the province, economic groups, investors and a large number of people attending. |
The project started in August 2015. With good direction and coordination between the investor and all levels and sectors, site clearance and construction were carried out very quickly, ensuring traffic progress.
The two road projects N5 and D4 in the Southeast Economic Zone are invested by the Southeast Economic Zone Management Board, of which: Road project N5 has a length of 4.9km, with a total investment of over 758 billion VND.
The D4 road project is 7.1km long, with a total investment of 748 billion VND. The scale of the projects is 56m wide; to suit budget conditions, the N5 and D4 roads in phase 1 have some sections that are half the designed width.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Duong affirmed that this is an important route of the province, the main axis connecting the economic regions of Western Nghe An with the Southeast Economic Zone to Cua Lo International Port Cluster, improving the capacity of freight transport, traffic, trade, creating an important basis for attracting investment projects in the Southeast Economic Zone of Nghe An province; shortening the time and facilitating the connection of the western region of the province with Vinh city; reducing the load on National Highway 7.
The route is an infrastructure guarantee to serve investors implementing projects in the province, especially to promptly serve the transportation of Clanke from Song Lam Cement Factory in Do Luong to Nghi Thiet Grinding Station and seaport.

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong praised the collective of cadres and engineers at the construction site, highly appreciated the efforts of the Department of Transport. Although the project construction encountered many difficulties in terms of site clearance and funding, the Department proactively coordinated with the districts to overcome difficulties, encouraged and urged contractors to speed up the construction progress, open the route on schedule, and ensure the quality of the project; with the support and consensus of the people in the project's affected area.
In order for the project to be put into effective use, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that after the opening of traffic, the investors, the Department of Transport and the Management Board of the Southeast Economic Zone, continue to complete the remaining items and tasks.
At the same time, units need to coordinate with local authorities along the route to propagate and disseminate to local people to comply with the Road Traffic Law, protect and preserve infrastructure during exploitation and use, helping the project to maximize its effectiveness, serving the increasing transportation and travel needs of people on the route.
