Nghe An rewards 120 million VND for 2 major projects

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of April 19, the Provincial People's Committee organized an award ceremony for 2 Special Project Teams 352LV; 355L (under the Provincial Border Guard) for their outstanding achievements in destroying a drug ring from Laos to Vietnam, seizing 36 heroin cakes and 15,000 synthetic drug pills.

Attending the ceremony were comrade Le Xuan Dai, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

After 4 months of investigation and monitoring, at 11:30 a.m. on April 17, in an area about 10km from the center of Sam To district, Hua Phan province (Laos) towards Muong Quan, the Drug and Crime Prevention Department (Nghe An Border Guard) and Thong Thu Border Post, Thanh Thuy Border Post in coordination with Hua Phan Provincial Police (Laos) successfully dismantled Project 352LV, arresting 2 Lao subjects who were transporting a large quantity of drugs from Laos to Vietnam for consumption.

The two arrested subjects were Tho No Chu (40 years old) and Tho Va Giong (also known as Tong Mua, 45 years old), both residing in Sam To district, Hua Phan province (Laos). Evidence collected at the scene included 36 heroin cakes and 15,000 synthetic drug pills hidden in backpacks and transported on two motorbikes by the two subjects. The Nghe An Border Guard handed over the two subjects and the evidence to the Hua Phan provincial police (Laos) for handling according to regulations. This is the largest-scale case and the largest-ever evidence collected by the provincial Border Guard.

Previously, on April 8, the anti-drug crime force (Nghe An Border Guard) coordinated with Na Ngoi Border Guard Station to successfully break up Project 355L, arresting Xong Nhia Xong (29 years old, residing in Ca Duoi village, Na Ngoi commune, Ky Son district, Nghe An) while he was transporting drugs for sale. The seized evidence included 2 heroin cakes, 1 flintlock gun, 1 knife, and 1 motorbike.

The Provincial People's Committee awarded 50 million VND to the 352LV Project Team.

After hearing the report on Projects 352LV and 355L, comrade Le Xuan Dai praised and acknowledged the intelligence and bravery of the officers and soldiers of the Project Board and highly appreciated the role of the Nghe An Provincial Border Guard in protecting border security. Including the fight against drug crimes, actively contributing to protecting the peaceful life of the people and protecting national security.

On behalf of the Provincial People's Committee, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee awarded the 352LV Project Team 50 million VND and the 355L Project Team 40 million VND for their outstanding achievements in the fight against drugs.

On this occasion, the Provincial Border Guard Command awarded 2 special project teams 30 million VND.
