Nghe An organizes a workshop to improve the quality of supervision and criticism work of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations.
On the morning of September 27, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province held a workshop to contribute ideas to the Project of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on improving the quality of supervision and criticism work of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations in the province for the period 2025 - 2030.
Comrade Nguyen Duc Thanh - Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province chaired the workshop. Attending the workshop were leaders and former leaders of some provincial departments and branches, leaders of member organizations of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and the district-level Fatherland Front.

Monitor and respond to 12,925 calls
Social supervision and criticism is one of the important functions and tasks of the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations, stipulated in many Party documents, the Constitution in the 2013 Constitution and the Politburo specifically stipulated in Decision No. 217, dated December 12, 2013, the National Assembly recognized in the Law on the Vietnam Fatherland Front 2015, and related legal documents.

This activity has been implemented by the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations at all levels in the province through the development of annual plans, clearly identifying key contents related to the organization of implementation of policies and guidelines of the Party and State and urgent issues, difficulties and obstacles from practice related to the legitimate and legal rights of people, union members and association members.

Such as monitoring environmental pollution treatment; state management of food hygiene and safety; public reception and settlement of complaints and denunciations; implementing direct support policies for poor households in disadvantaged areas; implementing policies and mechanisms for forest protection and development; compensation, support for site clearance and resettlement; monitoring the moral cultivation and lifestyle of cadres and party members...

Criticism activities are focused on draft policies, laws, programs and projects directly related to the legitimate rights and interests of the people, union members and association members.
In 5 years (2019 - 2023), the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations at all levels in the province have chaired 10,788 supervision sessions, with a total of 49,834 recommendations after supervision, of which 43,856 recommendations were received and resolved by competent authorities and 5,978 recommendations have not been resolved.
All levels organized 2,137 social criticism sessions with 31,494 petitions to all levels; of which 30,887 petitions were resolved and 607 petitions were not resolved.

It is necessary to issue the Project.
In addition to the achieved results, at the workshop, delegates also focused on analyzing and clarifying many difficulties and limitations in implementing monitoring and social criticism activities of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations.
In particular, the awareness of some Party committees about the monitoring and criticism activities of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations is not sufficient to pay attention to leadership and direction.
The government's responsibility for facilitating and receiving and resolving recommendations after supervision and criticism from the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations is not high.

There is currently a lack of a mechanism to ensure that recommendations and proposals after supervision and criticism by the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations are thoroughly and effectively implemented.
On the other hand, regarding the function of supervision and criticism, it is currently stipulated in many documents and each document has a different organizational form, leading to confusion in the implementation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations at times and in some places. Along with that, there is a lack of initiative, creativity and limited supervision skills, the selection of content and objects of supervision is not really appropriate; the quality of recommendations after supervision and criticism is not high.

From that reality, the opinions discussed at the workshop all affirmed the necessity of issuing the Project of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on "Strengthening the leadership of Party committees at all levels in the supervision and social criticism work of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations in the province, period 2025 - 2030".
Delegates also focused on analyzing and clarifying the legal and practical bases and the necessity of issuing the project; at the same time, supplementing and proposing many specific tasks and solutions.

In particular, it clearly emphasizes the role and responsibility of Party committees at all levels in leadership and direction as well as attention to perfecting and building a team of qualified Front officials at all levels; the responsibility of the government in creating conditions and resolving recommendations after supervision and criticism; the responsibility of the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations to strive to meet the requirements of tasks, affirming their role and position in the political system and in society.
