Nghe An organizes festival 'Youth and traffic culture'
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of October 3, the Standing Committee of Nghe An Provincial Youth Union and Thanh Chuong District Youth Union jointly organized the "Youth and Traffic Culture" Festival with the theme "Improving the effectiveness and efficiency of law enforcement, ensuring traffic order and safety" at Nguyen Canh Chan High School.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Comrade Pham Van Toan - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union said that 2021 is the first year to respond to the Resolution of the United Nations General Assembly on "Decade of Action for Road Traffic Safety" launched by the Ministry of Transport in coordination with the Vietnam National Traffic Safety Committee. Therefore, the goal of improving the effectiveness and efficiency of state management and law enforcement activities in ensuring traffic safety is a very important task.
From this purpose, the National Traffic Safety Committee sets specific targets: Reduce traffic accidents by 5-10% in all three criteria of number of cases, number of deaths and number of injuries compared to 2020; reduce particularly serious traffic accidents; reduce accidents involving commercial transport vehicles. At the same time, raise awareness and self-consciousness of law compliance of traffic participants, build traffic culture in the community.

According to the report of the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee, in the first 9 months of 2021, there were 98 road and railway traffic accidents in Nghe An province, killing 73 people and injuring 66 people.
Identifying the urgent and important issue of coordinating to ensure traffic safety and order, in recent years, the Youth Union at all levels in the province has deployed many movements and activities to propagate, disseminate legal education, and mobilize young people to strictly comply with traffic safety laws. At the same time, participating in coordinating and building many models to maintain and ensure traffic safety and order in the province such as: "Safe and civilized school gate" model, "Safe ferry crossing" model, Traffic accident first aid team, quick response when participating in traffic.

In order for the "Youth and Traffic Culture" festival in particular and activities to ensure traffic safety and order in 2021 to achieve high results, contributing to reducing traffic accidents, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union requested that all levels of the Youth Union and Nghe An youth need to focus on implementing well 3 key tasks.
Specifically, strengthen propaganda and education to raise awareness of law compliance of union members and young people participating in traffic, contributing to limiting administrative violations of road traffic safety and order. So that the Road Traffic Law can truly enter life and become a reality."traffic culture"It is necessary to strengthen the organization of propaganda of the Road Traffic Law for union members and young people participating in traffic, in many different forms.
Second, continue to promote the spirit of shock, volunteerism and creativity of young people through establishing, maintaining and promoting the activities of youth volunteer teams and youth shock troops participating in ensuring traffic order and safety.

Third, Youth Union chapters at all levels need to continue to strengthen advisory work for Party committees and authorities at all levels on coordination programs between the Youth Union and organizations, departments, offices, and unions in propaganda, education, and promoting the role of youth in ensuring traffic order and safety.
Organize to commend, reward, and propagate typical examples of young people, models, and outstanding teams of the Youth Union, Association, and Teams that effectively participate in the Campaign "Youth and Children with Traffic Culture".

Responding to Traffic Safety Month 2021, right from the beginning of the new school year, the Provincial Youth Union Executive Committee also directed 100% of units in the province to restart the model of safe and civilized school gates when students return to school, organize the Nghe An Youth Contest, the video contest to propagate and disseminate legal knowledge on traffic safety in 2021.
In the series of activities of the festival, the Provincial Youth Union visited and presented gifts to the safe ferry model in Thanh Giang commune and directed the Provincial Police Youth Union to increase mobile propaganda on some main roads; held the Golden Bell Contest for high school students at Thanh Chuong 1 High School and disseminated legal knowledge on traffic safety and trained safe driving for students.
