Nghe An summarizes the 2022 - 2023 school year and deploys tasks for the 2023 - 2024 school year

Maintain quality education

School year 2022 - 2023,Educationand Training has proactively and resolutely coordinated and effectively advised on resolutions, programs, projects, and plans for education development in the period up to 2030. In addition, it has actively chaired, coordinated, and advised on organizing provincial and national exams to ensure seriousness, safety, and quality.

At the same time, the tasks have been implemented, the program has been completed, the 2022-2023 school year has been summarized and summarized in a synchronous, scientific and planned manner; the socio-economic targets for 2022 and the first 6 months of 2023 on building schools that meet national standards have been exceeded. Accordingly, by the end of 2022, the whole province had 1,101 schools that met national standards, a rate of 75.86%. In the first 6 months of 2023, the whole province has proposed to recognize 98 schools that meet national standards, of which 17 schools were newly recognized and 81 schools were re-recognized.

During this school year, the sector has continued to deploy and build new models of schools and education that are leading in the region and the country, creating breakthroughs in improving the quality of education at all levels; Being proactive in training and improving the quality of staff. The sector has also made many breakthroughs in digital transformation, building a modern and effective educational environment, developing digital human resources, and strengthening international cooperation to enhance the position of Nghe An education.

With many efforts, the quality of comprehensive education continues to be maintained and has made steady progress. As a result, excellent national and international students are always at the top of the country. At the end of the school year, Nghe An had 4 students winning Gold and Silver Medals at theInternational Olympiad; 9 students won Silver Medals and 1 student won Encouragement Prize at the TIMO International Math Olympiad 2023. At the 2023 National Excellent Student Competition, Nghe An had 87 students winning prizes, including 7 First prizes, 32 Second prizes, 30 Third prizes and 18 Encouragement prizes, ranking 2nd in the country.

Vocational education and higher education have also seen some improvements. In particular, the quality and effectiveness of vocational training have received attention and have had many positive changes. The rate of good and excellent students in colleges and intermediate schools has reached nearly 50%; many students in the province have won medals and certificates of excellent vocational skills at national, regional and international vocational skills competitions. Some occupations have initially met the requirements of socio-economic development, investment attraction of the province, and the requirements of the labor market.

Higher education institutions in the province have basically met their enrollment targets for undergraduate and postgraduate programs. In 2023, implementing the school restructuring policy, Nghe An has prepared to complete the project of merging the following schools: Nghe An College of Education, Nghe An College of Culture and Arts into Nghe An University of Economics and renamed it Nghe An University; consulted a document requesting the Ministry of Education and Training to include it in the University System Planning until 2030, with a vision to 2050.

In addition to the achieved results, at the conference, many presentations from localities also shared solutions in directing the construction and maintenance of national standard schools; strengthening facilities to meet the new 2018 General Education Program, building safe, healthy and friendly schools; effectively coordinating between families, schools and communities in improving the quality of child care, nurturing and education.

The conference also analyzed the difficulties, shortcomings, and limitations such as: Currently, Nghe An is lacking more than 6,500 teachers, the rate of mobilizing children to go to school is still low, there are many separate schools in primary schools, so it is difficult to organize teaching of the 2018 General Education Program. The work of preventing and combating drowning, school violence, and life skills education has had many synchronous solutions in organization and implementation, however, school violence and drowning still occur.

The quality and effectiveness of training at some vocational training institutions have not met the requirements; the structure of vocational training enrollment is still mainly at the elementary level; training equipment at some educational institutions is still lacking compared to the list of minimum equipment prescribed, many of the equipment are too old and outdated. Enrollment has improved, but there is an imbalance in scale between training sectors, affecting labor distribution, teaching quality, scientific research activities, and conditions for ensuring quality...

Building effective solutions that are close to local realities

Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Dinh Long said that the Summary Report fully reflected the results of the 2022-2023 school year and the directions and tasks for the 2023-2024 school year. At the same time, he highly appreciated the results that the Education and Training sector had achieved in the past school year, especially in the advisory work of the Department of Education and Training. Thereby, it has greatly impacted the direction and implementation of the sector's tasks.

In the drastic direction and advisory work, the educational results have achieved encouraging results, the comprehensive quality of education has been maintained and improved. Key education has been maintained, the quality of foreign language education has many positive changes. The results achieved continue to affirm Nghe An as a bright spot in teaching and learning, enhancing the reputation of the education sector and Nghe An province.

Entering the 2023-2024 school year, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee suggested that the entire Education and Training sector should focus on solutions to resolve the existing problems of the sector and the locality, paying attention to two issues, which are that the province still has many remote schools and needs to rearrange the school network planning. In the city and some favorable areas, the class size will increase, and it is necessary to arrange enough classrooms for schools.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also analyzed the shortcomings and limitations of university education and vocational education. At the same time, he reminded units about the issue of recruiting students for majors with training programs and competitiveness. Each school needs to build key majors to create a brand for the school, avoiding spreading training.

This school year, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also hopes that the entire industry needs to systematically and scientifically deploy in all fields, including 9 tasks for general preschool education, 5 tasks for university education and 5 tasks for vocational education.

In particular, continue to do a good job of policy consulting, develop a team of teachers with capacity and qualities, meeting the requirements of international integration and the 4.0 industrial revolution, how to develop a team of teachers who not only provide knowledge but also inspire students to learn.

In the coming time, the industry also needs to develop documents to implement the school year plan in an integrated direction, organize professional conferences for the school year, on the basis of academic theory put into practice close to the grassroots, the development of solutions must create breakthroughs to effectively implement the 2018 General Education Program.

Currently, there are educational differences between localities in the province, despite similarities in economic and social conditions. Therefore, the Education and Training sector must conduct a scientific review and accurate assessment of the quality of education between regions and areas and propose solutions to improve the quality of education for each unit.

On the eve of the new school year, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the entire sector to pay attention to the work of facilities, staff, enrollment, and organizing the opening ceremony close to local realities, ensuring safety and efficiency. Organize well the ceremony to honor students with high scores in regional and international Olympic competitions, and high school graduation exams to spread the meaning of the program.
