Nghe An deploys construction of high-tech forestry agricultural zone

The high-tech agricultural zone in the forestry sector includes the following projects: North Central Vietnam High-tech Forestry Seed Center; Linking high-quality intensive forest plantation production; Wood and non-timber forest product production and processing zone; Trading floor combined with exhibition to introduce wood and forestry products.

At this time, along with the construction of the Project, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee has also connected with enterprises investing in subdivisions in the High-tech Agricultural Zone to carry out steps according to the set plan.

However, the implementation process encountered some difficulties such as: the investment capital for forestry is quite large, the scale of building a high-tech zone requires a large area but cannot be concentrated in one area...

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Tri, Director General of the General Department of Forestry, stated: To speed up the project's progress, it is necessary to have the participation of the entire political system, clearly identify the key products in the construction of the high-tech wood processing industry, in order to have effective solutions. It is necessary to implement socialization when building forestry zones, build specific mechanisms to attract investment enterprises. After completing the project, the site clearance stage will be very difficult, so the process of building a high-tech zone needs to be divided into many stages, easy to do first, difficult to do later.

At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dinh Viet Hong proposed to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to provide guidance on the order and legal procedures for developing the project, integrating "High-tech agricultural zone in the forestry sector of Nghe An province".

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also proposed a management and operation mechanism for the Zone according to the Joint Stock Company model, enjoying central policies as prescribed in the Law on High Technology.

The province will make every effort to implement the project on schedule, creating favorable conditions for businesses to invest in the high-tech agricultural zone. In particular, according to the roadmap, Nghe An strives to complete the granting of FSC certificates for over 10,000 hectares of forest in the first 6 months of 2020, to provide raw materials for the high-tech agricultural zone in forestry.

On this occasion, delegates also discussed plans to coordinate the organization of a series of events to celebrate "Vietnam Forestry - 75 years of formation and development".

Nghe An aims to become the largest wood processing production center in the North Central region.
