Nghe An solemnly held a memorial service and burial for 96 remains of Vietnamese martyrs, volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Laos.
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of May 19, at Nghi Loc District Martyrs' Cemetery, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, and armed forces of Nghe An province solemnly held a memorial service and buried the remains of 96 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Laos.

Delegates of the Party Committee and Command of Military Region 4 included Lieutenant General Tran Vo Dung - Party Committee Secretary, Political Commissar of the Military Region and representatives of leaders of the Military Region's agencies.
On the Lao side, there were the following comrades: Lieutenant General Vong Son - In Phan Phim - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Special Work Committee of Xay Som Bun province; Phu Vong - Bun Xu - Deputy Governor, Head of the Special Work Committee of Vientiane province; Khan Thoong Vong Am Kha - Political Commissar of the Military Command, Deputy Head of the Special Work Committee of Xieng Khouang province.
The leaders of Nghe An province include comrades: Thai Thanh Quy - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Ho Le Ngoc - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee; Colonel Phan Dai Nghia - Commander of the Provincial Military Command; members of the Provincial Party Executive Committee: Nguyen Nhu Khoi - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; and leaders of departments, agencies and Nghi Loc district.

The search and collection of martyrs' remains is a major policy of our Party and State, demonstrating the Vietnamese people's morality of "When drinking water, remember its source" and the sacred, deep affection for comrades and teammates who heroically sacrificed for the cause of national liberation, protecting the Fatherland and fulfilling noble international duties.
Over the past years, with the close attention and direction of the Special Working Group of the Vietnamese Government and the Lao Government; the Party Committee, Command and Steering Committee 515 of Military Region 4, the Special Working Group of the 4 provinces: Nghe An, Xieng Khouang, Vientiane, Xay Som Bun have thoroughly grasped and effectively implemented the work of searching for and collecting the remains of martyrs who died in Laos.

In the 2022 - 2023 dry season, the Collection Team of Nghe An province proactively overcame all difficulties, closely coordinated with all levels and sectors of Xieng Khouang, Vientiane, and Xay Som Bun provinces to search for and collect the remains of 96 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who sacrificed their lives for the noble international duty in Laos.
On behalf of the leaders of Nghe An province, reading the eulogy at the Memorial Service and Burial of the martyrs, comrade Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee was moved and proud to review the contributions and noble sacrifices of the heroic martyrs and Vietnamese experts in Laos, contributing greatly to the victory of the revolutions of the two countries, further enhancing the solidarity, special friendship and heroic history of the two peoples of Vietnam and Laos.

The Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and the people of all ethnic groups in Nghe An province pledge to continue to promote the traditions of the Vietnamese nation, of the heroic Soviet homeland, strive to study and follow the example of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style and the brave fighting spirit of the heroic martyrs, promote internal strength, exploit external strength, strive to successfully implement the socio-economic, national defense and security goals according to the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and the Resolution of the 19th Nghe An Provincial Party Congress, and build Nghe An province to become increasingly prosperous as Uncle Ho always wished.

On behalf of the working delegation of Xieng Khouang, Vientiane, Xay Som Bun provinces (Laos), comrade Phu Vong - Bun Xu - Deputy Governor, Head of the Special Working Committee of Vientiane province expressed deep gratitude to the Party, Government, Army and People of Vietnam for their wholehearted, righteous and extremely valuable support for the Lao revolution.
Comrade Phu Vong - Bun Xu expressed his deep gratitude to the Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who sacrificed their blood and bones for the cause of liberating Laos; as well as his gratitude and sincere thanks to the families and relatives of the martyrs.

At the memorial service, in a solemn atmosphere, leaders of the Government's Special Working Group, the Ministry of National Defense, Military Region 4, Nghe An province and the provinces of Xieng Khouang, Vientiane, Xay Som Bun (Laos); representatives of provincial departments, branches and sectors, along with a large number of cadres and people... respectfully offered flowers and incense at the Nghi Loc District Martyrs' Cemetery Monument; and solemnly buried the remains of 96 martyrs according to military rites at the cemetery grounds.
