Nghe An: Prioritizing the development of new-style cooperatives in the agricultural sector
(Baonghean.vn) - Speaking at the conference summarizing collective economic activities and cooperatives, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nghia Hieu said that cooperatives must rise up on their own, promote the position and role of the management board, especially the role of the head of the cooperative; prioritize the development of new-style cooperatives in the agricultural sector.
On the morning of January 11, the Provincial Cooperative Union held a conference to review collective economic activities, cooperatives and the Provincial Cooperative Union in 2021 and deploy tasks for 2022. Comrade Hoang Nghia Hieu - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Collective Economic Steering Committee attended and chaired the conference.
53% of cooperatives operate effectively

In 2021, despite many difficulties, the number of cooperatives operating effectively was 435 (accounting for 53%); the number of cooperatives operating on average was 357 (accounting for 43%); the number of cooperatives operating ineffectively was 30 (accounting for 4.0%); procedures for dissolving 6 cooperatives were carried out according to regulations.

The average revenue of a cooperative in 2021 reached more than 2.2 billion VND; labor income reached an average of 56 million VND/year. Many cooperatives have built large-scale production and business models in the fields of trade, production and processing of agricultural products, seafood, and medicinal herbs. To date, 21/21 districts, cities, and towns have at least 1 new cooperative model associated with the value chain.
During the year, the Provincial Cooperative Union has synchronously deployed and basically completed the targets and tasks set out for the year.
In 2022, the Provincial Cooperative Union sets the target: Consulting on the establishment of 40-50 new cooperatives and 1-2 Cooperative Unions. Mobilizing and attracting 20-30 cooperatives to join the Provincial Cooperative Union. Supporting 5-7 cooperatives to buildlink modelvalue chain with provincial budget; support the construction of 1-2 more clean agricultural product stores. Organize and coordinate participation in 4 fairs in and outside the province, 2 supply-demand connection activities, conduct 2 training courses oninformation technology applications, exploit legal websites to promote and introduce products.

In order for the collective economy and cooperatives to develop more effectively, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee directed a number of key contents: Clearly identifying the development of the collective economy and cooperatives as an inevitable trend, considering this an important and regular political task of departments, branches, agencies and localities.
Focus on synchronously implementing the tasks assigned by the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance, the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee and the plan and strategy for collective economic development; at the same time, it is necessary to select key and central tasks, assign specific tasks to the Standing Committee, the Standing Committee, and the Executive Committee to implement and evaluate the results.
The Provincial Cooperative Union needs to continue to improve the effectiveness of coordination with departments, branches and localities in developing cooperative economy and cooperatives; especially in coordinating the development and advising the Provincial People's Committee to issue projects, programs and plans related to collective economic activities and cooperatives. Early organize the assessment of the performance of the Provincial Cooperative Development Support Fund; develop a plan to seek opinions from sectors on transforming the Fund model in the spirit of Decree 45 of the Government. Strengthen training and fostering management capacity for cooperative staff. Organize well trade promotion activities, connecting supply and demand; promptly implement digital transformation in the cooperative system.
