Su-30 aircraft crashed in Nghe An waters

On the morning of June 14, a Su-30MK2 with registration number 8585 of the Vietnam Air Force from Sao Vang Airport, Thanh Hoa lost contact while flying over the waters of Nghe An. On board the plane were Deputy Regiment Commander, Chief of Staff of Regiment 923 Tran Quang Khai and Deputy Squadron Commander of the Su-30 Squadron Nguyen Huu Cuong.

Helicopters were mobilized to participate in search and rescue work.

Dozens of planes and many boats of the Air Defense, Air Force, Navy, Coast Guard, along with forces of Military Region 4, Border Guards of Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Thanh Hoa provinces, and fishermen actively participated in the search for the plane and the two missing pilots.

On the morning of June 15, pilot Nguyen Huu Cuong was discovered and rescued by a fishing boat in the waters of Thanh Hoa province, about 28 nautical miles from Mat Island. On the afternoon of June 17, pilot Tran Quang Khai was discovered by a fisherman in a dead state, with the parachute tightly wrapped around his body, in the area bordering Mat Island in the waters of Nghe An.

The memorial service for Lieutenant Colonel Pilot Tran Quang Khai will be held according to the protocol of the Vietnam People's Army at the Funeral Home of Military Region 4, Vinh City, Nghe An from 7am to 10am on June 20, then the body will be moved to Bac Giang.

Warning of extremely dangerous forest fire risk

Faced with the tense weather conditions, on June 13, the Provincial Forest Protection and Development Steering Committee issued a level 5 forest fire warning to the Forest Protection Departments and forest owners.

Notably, on June 13 and 14, in Dien Chau district, there were two consecutive fires in pine forests with a total area of ​​up to 13 hectares. More than 500 people were mobilized from 15 communes to control and extinguish the fires.

Most recently, on the evening of June 18, a fire broke out in Quynh Luu district, burning down 2 hectares of pine forest overnight.

More flights from Vinh to Singapore and Japan are about to open.

On the morning of June 17, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee had a working session with the Ministry of Transport delegation led by Deputy Minister Nguyen Nhat on upgrading and expanding Vinh International Airport.

According to the adjusted plan, by 2020, Vinh airport will reach a capacity of up to 3 million passengers/year and will be a backup airport for Noi Bai airport. In addition to the current runway, a new runway 3,000m long and 45m wide will be planned.

The first flight of the Vinh - Bangkok direct route on June 8.

In the near future, Vinh airport will open a number of international flights to Singapore, Japan, etc. to meet the travel needs of local residents as well as foreign tourists.

Recently, the Vinh - Bangkok international flight route was officially launched. The first flights were 100% booked, expected to serve 1 - 2 flights per month.
