Nghe An and Xieng Khouang strengthen cooperation in protecting security and order

(Baonghean.vn) - On August 22, in Xieng Khouang province (Laos), a 2016 security cooperation conference was held between the Police and Border Guard of Nghe An province (Vietnam) and the Police of Xieng Khouang province (Laos).

Attending the conference on the side of the delegation of Nghe An province was Colonel Le Khac Thuyet - Deputy Director of Nghe An Provincial Police as head of the delegation; on the side of Laos was Comrade Bun Lot Kham Pheng Phan - Director of Xieng Khouang Provincial Police.

The 2016 Security and Order Protection Conference between Xieng Khouang Provincial Police and Nghe An Provincial Border Guard Police took place in the context of Vietnam and Laos organizing many major political and social events.

The economic, cultural and social situation of the two countries in general and the two provinces of Xieng Khouang and Nghe An in particular continued to develop and achieved many comprehensive results in all fields.

Since the 2015 Conference, Xieng Khouang Police, Nghe An Police and Border Guard have closely followed the contents of the signed Memorandums of Understanding, contributing significantly to maintaining political security and social order and safety.

Colonel Le Khac Thuyet, Deputy Director of Nghe An Provincial Police and Comrade Bun Lot Kham Pheng Phan, Director of Xieng Khouang Provincial Police chaired the Conference.

The two sides have coordinated well, exchanged information, and grasped the security and order situation in the border areas, especially the plots of hostile forces to take advantage of religious, ethnic, democratic, human rights issues... to sabotage the two countries of Vietnam and Laos. The Nghe An Police and Border Guard and the Xieng Khouang Provincial Police of Laos have discovered, fought, and arrested 17 cases, 19 subjects, and seized more than 63 heroin cakes; 34,240 synthetic drug pills and many exhibits and documents related to security and order in the border areas...

In the spirit of special solidarity, friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, Nghe An Provincial Police and Xieng Khouang Provincial Police agreed to sign the 25th memorandum of understanding on cooperation in protecting public security and order in 2016.

Focusing on issues related to the activities of hostile forces and the activities of reactionary organizations in exile; Advising the Party Committee and the government to direct and strengthen propaganda and education, mobilizing people to comply with the laws of each country, strictly implement border regulations, respect each other's independence and sovereignty, create all favorable conditions for receiving illegal immigrants who are returned, and at the same time strengthen coordination to more effectively implement state management of security and order in border areas, especially the management of people, household registration, issuance of identity cards, management of weapons, explosives, etc. Continue to maintain and improve regular meetings to exchange information and coordinate to resolve issues related to security and order of the two provinces under the direction of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Ministry of Security of Laos.

On the same day, delegations from Nghe An and Xieng Khouang provinces offered flowers and incense at the Vietnam-Laos Combat Alliance Monument in Don village, Phonsavan town, Xieng Khouang province - a memorial place for heroic martyrs of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers who sacrificed their lives on Lao soil./.
