(Baonghean.vn) - Unlike previous years, in the first working days after Tet, at the Immigration Department and the One-Stop Department (Nghe An Provincial Police), the number of people coming to make passports and citizen identification cards decreased significantly.

At the Nghe An Immigration Department, in the first two working days, the number of citizens coming to apply for passports and travel documents was only over 400 people, compared to the same period in previous years, each day was approximately 1,000 people. The reason is determined to be due to the Covid-19 epidemic situation, so people cannot leave the country, so they cannot go to work. In particular, the number of people coming to work is not massive but scattered at all times of the day.

In addition to ensuring security and order, epidemic prevention and control work is strictly implemented at the Immigration Department. According to a representative of the Immigration Department, citizens coming to do procedures must line up and stand at a distance from each other. Before entering, each citizen must be sprayed with disinfectant and have their temperature taken.

Unlike previous years, when we had to borrow additional space from the headquarters of the Provincial Cadre Protection and Health Care Department to set up a reception desk and return results, now with fewer people coming to transact, everything is done within the premises of the department, so epidemic prevention and control work is always "tightened".

Similarly, at the One-Stop Department of Nghe An Provincial Police, very few citizens came to transact during the first two working days. According to statistics, there were only over 100 people in both days, compared to the same period in previous years, there were 600-700 people. Most of them were people working far away returning home for Tet, workers preparing to apply for jobs, study, etc. but had previously lost their ID cards, so they were forced to go and make citizen identification cards (CCCD).

According to the staff at the One-Stop-Shop, the reason why the number of people going to make CCCD in the first days of this year is low, in addition to being afraid of gathering in crowded places, is also because currently those with valid ID cards can continue to use them; making CCCD is to make a passport, but now it is difficult to leave the country due to the epidemic situation, so people have not gone to make it...

With the current changes in issuing chip-embedded ID cards, all steps of making ID cards are updated by machine. Mr. Tran Duc Chung, from Nghi Loc district, said: I unfortunately lost my ID card during Tet, so now I have to go to get a citizen ID card, because I am also very afraid to go to crowded places at this time. "Fortunately, now the administrative procedures are simplified, making a citizen ID card is also very simple, I am very excited" - Mr. Chung expressed.

According to Colonel Luong The Loc - Head of the Administrative Management and Social Order Police Department (Provincial Police), along with receiving and making citizen identification cards, officers and soldiers always uphold the spirit of preventing and fighting the Covid-19 epidemic, so, along with reminding citizens to wear masks, disinfect, and check body temperature, after each working session, officers and soldiers at the One-Stop Department clean the working area.
