Nghe An builds 4 pilot models for safe agricultural production and processing

On the morning of March 27, at the hall of the People's Committee of Quynh Luong commune, the Farmers' Association of Nghe An province organized the launching ceremony of "Farmers produce, trade and consume safe agricultural products and food".

Attending the launching ceremony were comrades: Nguyen Quang Tung - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association; Hoang Danh Lai - Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Quynh Luu district; representatives of provincial departments and branches and a large number of farmers of Quynh Luong commune (Quynh Luu).

This is one of the annual activities to concretize the objectives of the Project "Propaganda, mobilization, guidance for farmers in production, business and consumption of safe agricultural products and food in the period of 2020-2023". Thereby, to create a strong change in farmers' awareness and consciousness about production.safe agricultural food; Promote the application and replication of advanced production models and processes, ensuring food safety; prevent the abuse of pesticides, growth stimulants, chemicals, antibiotics and banned substances in production, contributing to sustainable agricultural development, improving people's income and quality of life.

Accordingly, in 2021, the whole province will build 4 pilot models of production,agricultural processingSafe food, specifically: 1 safe vegetable growing model using sprinkler irrigation technology in Tan Ky district; 1 intensive grapefruit intercropping model following VietGAP in Anh Son district; 2 fish sauce processing models ensuring food safety and hygiene in Cua Lo town and Hoang Mai town.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, comrade Nguyen Quang Tung emphasized: "Farmers are the ones who directly produce agricultural products and food and are the major force consuming agricultural products and food, so raising awareness and changing behavior for members about production, business and consumption of safe agricultural products and food is very important."

Along with that process, farmers' associations at all levels in the province have also implemented many practical and effective activities; mobilizing farmer members to strictly implement the 3 yes's, which are: Having knowledge of technical processes for raising, cultivating, and processing safe food; having a sense of self-consciousness in complying with food safety laws; having the responsibility to detect and prevent unsafe food. Implementing the 3 no's, which are: Not using banned substances in raising, preserving, and processing agricultural products and food; not trading in banned substances and unsafe, poor-quality agricultural products and food; not consuming dirty agricultural products and food, unsafe agricultural products.

On this occasion, the Provincial Farmers' Association launched the Club "Farmers producing, trading and consuming safe agricultural products and food" in Quynh Luong commune with the participation of 70 members.
