Nghe An builds a plan to welcome workers from industrial parks in other provinces returning due to the epidemic
(Baonghean.vn) - In the face of the complicated developments of the Covid-19 epidemic, implementing the direction of the Provincial People's Committee, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of the province has coordinated with the provinces to grasp the number of workers and laborers from Nghe An working in industrial parks of the provinces for management and monitoring.
Accordingly, ifCovid-19 pandemicIf the situation continues to be complicated, forcing businesses in industrial parks in the provinces to temporarily stop operations or reduce production, the province will have plans and solutions to welcome children back to ensure both Covid-19 prevention requirements and long-term use.
According to preliminary data reported by the Department of Labor - Employment, Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Nghe An, by June 2021, Nghe An province had about 50,000 workers.work concentrated in industrial parkprovinces, of which nearly 24,000 workers in the northern provinces are experiencing the epidemic. In addition to the northern provinces, the southern region such as Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Dong Nai... has about 25,000 Nghe An workers working in industrial parks. Nghe An is closely monitoring the developments of the Covid-19 epidemic in these provinces to proactively develop plans to welcome workers back to their hometowns to work and live when necessary.
On the other hand, Nghe An currently has over 1,500 workers from other provinces working, including nearly 440 technical workers, foreign experts and 1,270 workers from other provinces. Among the provinces with workers working in Nghe An, the largest number is Ha Tinh with nearly 400 people, Thanh Hoa with 225 people; followed by localities such as Thai Nguyen with 82 people, Hanoi with 49 people, Son La with 48 people, Nam Dinh with 45 people, etc.
In recent years, Nghe An workers working in the South have tended to move to the Northern provinces to be closer to home. If the province has many industrial parks, Nghe An workers, especially unskilled workers, will return. The biggest obstacle for workers when returning is that the income in the area is still quite low compared to other provinces, from 1-1.5 million VND/month (the average income of Nghe An workers in 2020 was 5.8 to 6.0 million/month). In the provinces, in addition to salary, workers working outside the province are often supported and given incentives by businesses when renting collective housing for workers, shuttle buses, etc.

Mr. Tran Phi Hung - Head of Employment Department, Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of the province added: From June 10 to now, Nghe An has welcomed 2 waves ofworkers returning from Bac Giang province, the number is about 1,400 people. Compared to the initial proposal of Bac Giang province to Nghe An to welcome 2,200 workers, currently, some enterprises have accepted workers back to work, so only about 1,500 workers have returned.

To ensure epidemic prevention safety and attract workers to stay in their hometowns to work and stabilize their lives, the province must attract more investment projects that employ more workers; at the same time, it is necessary to have policies to encourage businesses to improve income for workers in the province to the national average, currently fluctuating from 7.5 to 8.5 million VND/month.
In the coming time, along with developing a scenario to welcome workers back to their hometowns, the province needs to have policies to encourage investors and enterprises to build factories that need to be associated withsocial securitysuch as arranging social housing, dormitories for workers or organizing shuttle buses to take workers from far away to factories and production facilities to work to ensure both safety and epidemic prevention in the new normal state./.
