Suspecting lack of gas, bank officer beats female employee

(Baonghean.vn) - Suspecting that Ms. Ngoc was not pumping enough gas for him, during an argument, Mr. Duc was so angry that he accidentally fired the gas pump and hit the female gas station employee in the head, causing her to need emergency care.

Accordingly, at about 8:10 a.m. on October 24, Mr. Hoang Huu Duc (born in 1979, residing in Vinh City) drove a car with license plate 37A - 321.99 into Nghi Phu gas station (Nghi Phu commune, Vinh City) to fill up with gas.

Here, Mr. Duc asked Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc, a store employee, to pump 500,000 VND worth of gas into his car's tank. After that, Mr. Duc drove the car out of the store.

However, about 10 minutes later, Mr. Duc drove back and said the staff here had pumped too little gas, and asked for more gas to be pumped into the car. At that time, Ms. Ngoc was pumping gas for another car so she asked Mr. Duc to check the meter again.

The two sides continued to argue, Mr. Duc was so angry that he grabbed the gas pump trigger from Ms. Ngoc's hand, hit the employee on the head, and then left. Ms. Ngoc screamed, Mr. Duc looked back and saw blood flowing from the female employee's head, so he ran over and put his arms around her head.

Afterwards, Mr. Duc helped Ms. Ngoc into the gas station to stop the bleeding and took her to the 115 Nghe An hospital for emergency treatment. At the hospital, doctors determined that Ms. Ngoc did not suffer any bone or brain damage, but only suffered soft tissue injuries. The doctor stitched and bandaged her and sent her home for treatment.

The incident was recorded, and the gas company’s technician came down to check and determined that the error was caused by Mr. Duc’s gas gauge. All of the customer’s actions in assaulting the female employee were recorded by the gas station’s security camera.

It is known that Mr. Hoang Huu Duc is a credit officer, currently working at the Cooperative Bank of Vietnam, Nghe An branch (Co.opBank) for 10 years.

Mr. Hoang Cong Thanh, Director of Petrolimex Nghe Tinh Transport and Service Joint Stock Company (PTS Nghe Tinh Company, under Vietnam National Petroleum Group) said: "The customer admitted his mistake and paid all medical expenses for Ms. Ngoc. Currently, this female employee has returned to work."
