Resolution guiding economic development
(Baonghean.vn) - Sound resolutions, aligned with the practical needs of the locality, have created a solid foundation for the implementation and replication of effective economic models, gradually creating sustainable livelihoods for the people and improving production efficiency.
Establishing specialized commodity production zones
With 7 hectares of alluvial land along the Lam River used for cultivating bitter melon, fragrant melon, and green squash, 3 hectares of fruit trees in the Cua Ran rice paddy area, 10 key model orchards, and high-quality rice cultivation areas, Trung Son commune is gradually becoming one of the leading localities in building the movement.economic developmentof Do Luong district. Through the effective implementation of resolutions, programs, and projects for economic development, Trung Son has formed many large-scale concentrated production areas. Many farmers have changed their small-scale farming methods to build model farms with the support of both the Party committee and the local government.
The model of growing yellow melons in greenhouses by the family of Mr. Nguyen Phung Khoi (born in 1975) in the Den Nghe rice fields has breathed new life into the business mindset of farmers in Hamlet 3, Trung Son Commune. According to Mr. Khoi, before 2020, his family only cultivated hybrid rice and corn in the Den Nghe rice fields and grew seasonal vegetables in the riverside floodplains. However, the idea of breaking away from traditional farming methods to build a high-tech agricultural model emerged when he participated in a vocational training course organized by the commune. During the course, he directly visited modern production models in Nam Dan, Thanh Chuong districts and Ha Tinh province to learn necessary knowledge and experience. After deciding to build the model, he received support in obtaining loans from the Social Policy Bank and leasing rice fields from neighboring households to expand his cultivated area.

In April 2020, Mr. Khoi invested nearly 1 billion VND to build a greenhouse model for growing the "Golden Queen" yellow melon variety in his Den Nghe field. The production method also differs from traditional farming practices, applying scientific and technological advancements to create a high-tech agricultural model. The greenhouse covers nearly 1,500 square meters with over 300 plants grown in staggered cycles using VietGAP technology and drip irrigation. It is estimated that with an average price of 80,000 VND per melon, he earns over 200 million VND per harvest. Besides the greenhouse model, he also started growing 7 hectares of green squash on the Lam River floodplain in 2019, applying plastic mulching techniques for high yields. Thanks to his years of experience in squash cultivation, his family harvested 30 tons of squash per hectare this season.
According to Mr. Doan Van Kien, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Trung Son Commune, the production models oriented towards commercial goods, such as those of Mr. Nguyen Phung Khoi's family, are increasingly appearing in the locality. This achievement is built upon the foundation of resolutions, programs, and projects on local economic development. Immediately after successfully holding the 2020-2025 term's Party Congress, the Trung Son Commune Party Committee assigned tasks to its members and developed action programs and plans to implement the resolutions. The central tasks included developing agriculture, building advanced new rural areas, and basic infrastructure. To make Trung Son a shining example in developing high-value economic production models, the commune developed resolutions focusing on key areas. This provided a foundation for building local economic models.
In Thanh Chuong district, the renewal of agricultural thinking has been effectively implemented by the Party committee, government, and farmers to gradually realize the goal of "Developing Thanh Chuong into a prosperous district.of Nghe An province. Resolutions on economic development, especially agricultural economics, have been issued and implemented, helping the locality gradually build larger-scale production models through contiguous land and plot planning for planting fruit trees, industrial tea, raw materials, aquaculture, vegetables, and raising buffalo, cattle, and chickens... In addition, many commercial fruit models such as VietGAP Thanh My pomelo and organic green squash have been expanded in many communes such as Thanh Linh, Thanh Lien, Thanh Hoa, Xuan Tuong, Dai Dong, Thanh Khai, Thanh Chi... Some products such as cantaloupe, cucumber, tomatoes, and vegetables grown in greenhouses in Thanh Khe, Thanh Lien, Thanh Tien, Thanh Linh, Thanh Duong, and Vo Liet communes have also established their position in the market, contributing to increasing people's income and stabilizing their lives.
