Addicted to drugs, Nghe An teacher resigns from position as vice principal of primary school

Regarding this incident, responding to Nghe An Newspaper, Mr. Phan Van Thiet - Deputy Head of the Department of Education and Training of Ky Son district confirmed that this information is correct. Specifically, it is the case of teacher Le Khac V. (born in 1982), currently the Vice Principal of Pha Danh Primary School. Previously, Mr. V. had more than 15 years of work experience in Ky Son district and in 2008 was appointed as Vice Principal of Na Loi Primary School, then Vice Principal of Pha Danh Primary School.

Regarding the fact that teacher Le Khac V. is addicted to drugs, the leader of the Ky Son Department of Education and Training also confirmed this information.

Accordingly, since August 31, Mr. V. has written to the school to request to go to drug rehabilitation. At the same time, Pha Danh Primary School has also sent a document to the District Education Department to report this incident. The document also clearly states where Mr. V went to rehab and commits to the results of the rehabilitation.

After nearly a month of drug rehabilitation on September 24, teacher V. returned to work as usual at school. On October 7, teacher V. submitted a request to the Department of Education and Training of Ky Son district to resign from his leadership position at Pha Danh Primary School.

Previously, the school and the Department of Education did not know when Mr. V. became addicted to drugs because Mr. V. did not make the matter public. After Mr. V. submitted a resignation letter, the District Department of Education also followed the correct procedure and sent a report to the People's Committee of Ky Son District. However, up to now, whether Mr. V. will be removed from his position or not is still waiting for the decision of the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee.

The leader of the Department of Education and Training of Ky Son district also said: The fact that a teacher who is teaching and holding a leadership position but is addicted to drugs is a violation of the standards and ethics of a teacher and is not worthy of holding a leadership position. However, teacher V. has also shown remorse and wants to be a normal teacher.

Regarding this issue, in an exchange with a representative of the Department of Personnel Organization - Department of Education and Training, it is known that: If a teacher is addicted to drugs, it means that he has violated the ethics of teachers and according to regulations, he will be disciplined. The issue of termination of employment will be considered on a case-by-case basis. There is no way that a teacher who has successfully quit drugs will continue to stand on the podium.
