Readers of the British newspaper The Telegraph have heavily criticized journalist Con Coughlin for his "warnings" to Vladimir Putin.

The author of the article is convinced that the Russian leader would make a "catastrophic" mistake if he decided to attack Ukraine.

"Putin wins while the EU and NATO disintegrate"

Not all users support the observer's opinion, noting that Russia is not going to invade anywhere, but only wants to receive security guarantees.

"I think that much of the responsibility for what is happening around Ukraine lies with the US and the EU, which are determined to increase their influence in the country. Russia is trying to surround itself with a ''buffer zone'' of countries that have not joined NATO. The US will hardly be happy about Russian missiles in Cuba," wrote David Paterson.

“Russia does not want war or invasion,” Marc Marcjf noted. “NATO wants to put a gun to Russia’s head. And then we wonder why the Russians react like that!”, Jean-Francois Bariant concluded.

“It’s interesting that Putin is winning while the EU and NATO are falling apart. All he has to do is sit back and watch,” David Allen concluded.

Accuse Russia

Relations between Russia and the West have become increasingly strained in recent months. Washington and Brussels accuse Moscow of preparing to “invade” Ukraine and of expanding its presence in Eastern Europe. Moscow denies the claims, insisting that it is moving troops on its own territory and that this should not worry anyone.
