Mr. Pham Van Long said: "In 2011, my sister took her nephew to Malaysia, without a labor contract. When she left, Vinh was in good health and mentally normal. My sister reported that on the evening of July 14, 2011, Vinh went to drink coffee in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. At 4 a.m. the next morning, my sister woke up and did not see Vinh return to his room, and her phone was no longer reachable. Since then, Vinh has been missing."
Mr. Long said his sister had reported to the Malaysian police and had searched many places but had no news. He had wanted to go to Malaysia many times to look for his child, but his sister said that if she came here she would not know the language or the way, making it difficult to find her. In the past, he had asked many Vietnamese people in Malaysia to look for her child but could not find her.
"When she first went missing, we didn't dare tell her grandparents because we were afraid that they would have a stroke because they were old and weak, so we didn't report it to the authorities. Now my sister has returned to Vietnam, but Vinh is still missing. Since that day, my daughter's phone has been unreachable," Mr. Long added.
