(Baonghean.vn) - Pha Lai suspension bridge, Mon Son commune (Con Cuong) is located on the only road leading to two Dan Lai villages in the upper reaches of the Giang River, Co Phat and Khe Bung. The bridge is currently in a state of disrepair, despite having been repaired many times.

Pha Lai suspension bridge is 214m long and 2.1m wide, completed in 2013, and is an important traffic project on the route leading to Co Phat and Khe Bung villages, where the Dan Lai community lives and are also the two most remote villages in Con Cuong district. According to local authorities, the bridge was completed in 2013 but quickly deteriorated and the contractor had to repair it many times. It was not until 2017 that the district and commune authorities took over the project. |

Less than 2 years later, this project continued to deteriorate. Mr. Luong Dinh Hoa, Chairman of the People's Committee of Mon Son Commune explained: "The number of vehicles traveling on the bridge every day is very high, besides, the bridge surface is mainly paved with wooden planks, so the bridge deteriorated quickly." |

Not only were the bridge planks damaged, but some of the protective railings were also missing. The Chairman of the People's Committee of Mon Son Commune also informed that the foot of the column and one side of the bridge abutment were also eroded. |

Con Cuong district authorities said that the authorities have inspected the deterioration of the project, however, the cost of repair is up to "several billions of dong", "the district's resources cannot meet the demand". |
