Chinese Americans criticize their own people for their lack of awareness.

Public urination, cutting in line, littering, and mob culture were some of the things that shocked a Chinese-American man when he visited Shanghai Disney.

Disney theme parks have long been known as “where dreams come true”. But perhaps Shanghai Disney is an exception, according to the comments of Chinese-American Disney Dwayne when he had the opportunity to visit this amusement park.

Dwayne is a Disneyland fanatic who has visited theme parks all over the world. However, when he arrived in Shanghai, he was shocked by the “nightmare” behavior of Chinese tourists.

The bad experience started at the park entrance, when he was pushed around by a line of people trying to buy tickets in advance. “You have to get used to being pushed around when you go to Shanghai. A family of 17 had a problem at the entrance and I had to wait with them,” Dwayne said. “But people pretended to be part of the family, pushed me aside and cut into my queue. It was horrible.”

Later, Dwayne and his companion Adrian visited a children's program, but both had to leave because the person in front of them held an umbrella, blocking their view. "It's not sunny or raining, why do they need an umbrella when it blocks everyone's view," Dwayne said angrily.

Dwayne also said that many parts of the park were damaged by visitors. Electrical outlets were pulled out of the walls, adults and children ran into the decorative areas that were not allowed to set foot on, littering was seen, and a mother carried her son to urinate in the public flower garden instead of taking him to the restroom.

This is not the first time that Shanghai Disney has been helpless in the face of tourist behavior. Last May, Disney issued a code of conduct for “uncivilized” visitors, which listed six things that must not be done: littering, vandalizing public buildings, damaging flowers and plants, lying on the grass, cutting in line, and other uncivilized behaviors.
