Woman hides 60 kg of rare wildlife in her house
(Baonghean.vn) - A woman named Lieu (residing in Thanh Chuong district - Nghe An) confessed to storing rare wild animals in her house to sell when she had guests.
In recent times, taking advantage of the border area and rugged terrain, the illegal trade of wildlife in Thanh Chuong district, Nghe An province has become increasingly complicated and tends to increase with many sophisticated tricks.
On December 17, through the work of monitoring the area and receiving information from the people, the Thanh Chuong District Police discovered that Nguyen Thi Lieu (born in 1966), residing in Village 4, Thanh Thuy Commune (Thanh Chuong), had signs of violating regulations on the protection of rare and endangered wild animals.

At around 7:00 p.m. on December 18, the Thanh Chuong District Police raided the private home of Nguyen Thi Lieu, discovered and seized the following evidence: 3 animals suspected to be dead monkeys, 1 live monkey, 3 animals suspected to be weasels, 2 pythons, 20 animals suspected to be bamboo rats. The total weight was 60 kg.
At the police station, Nguyen Thi Lieu initially confessed that she kept the above animals in her private home so that when she had guests, she could sell them for profit.
Currently, the Thanh Chuong District Police Investigation Agency is completing the file to handle the subject according to the law and hand over the live monkey to the Pu Mat National Park Management Board.
