According to the investigation, Phuoc came to Nguyen My Dung's house (34 years old) in Tan Kien commune (Binh Chanh district) to ask to stay overnight, 5 nights ago. Because he was a classmate, the homeowner couple agreed.
However, that night, Phuoc asked Dung and her husband to open the door because he had to go on an "urgent important" business. Three days later, Dung discovered that the jar of gold and jewelry worth more than 100 million VND that she had kept under the kitchen shelf was gone, so she reported it.
Working with the police, Phuoc admitted that he had searched Dung’s house that night and accidentally discovered a pot of gold, so he hid it in his coat, pretending to have urgent matters to attend to. Phuoc sold the gold to pay off his debt and spend.
The evidence was recovered and returned to the victim.
