(Baonghean.vn) - The flood that occurred more than a month ago has severely damaged the road leading to the Ke Tat - Ba Ha resettlement area in Thach Ngan commune (Con Cuong). Up to now, the repair and restoration work has encountered many difficulties.

After more than a month of floods, traveling on the road to Ke Tat and Ba Ha - two remote villages of Thach Ngan commune (Con Cuong) has encountered many difficulties due to serious road degradation.

This route is more than 10 km long, completed and put into use nearly 10 years ago, is a component of the Project for Conservation and Sustainable Development of the Dan Lai ethnic minority living in the core zone of Pu Mat National Park.

Not only is it meaningful for Dan Lai people in resettlement areas, but people in Khe Dong, Ke Gia, Ke Tat and Ba Ha villages also benefit.

However, this route has many streams flowing through it, so spillways must be designed to ensure traffic. The entire route has nearly 10 spillways, concentrated in the areas of Ke Gia, Thach Son and Ke Tat villages. During the rainy season, the streams rise and flow strongly, significantly affecting the roadbed structure, especially near the spillways.

This landslide is at the beginning of the Ke Tat - Ba Ha resettlement area, more than 2/3 of the roadbed has been eroded, only about 40 cm of road surface remains. If there is heavy rain in the coming time, the risk of being cut off is very high. Photo: Cong Kien

The flood from August 17-19 severely damaged this road, many places the asphalt surface was washed away, leaving only a layer of gravel, many places near the spillways had landslides, revealing deep holes. There were even places where only 1/3 of the road surface remained, the asphalt surface was only about 40 cm, just enough for a motorbike to pass.

It is alarming that these locations will continue to erode, causing complete isolation if there continues to be heavy rain in the coming time.
