Cause of the strongest tornado in the US that killed and injured hundreds
Deadly tornadoes hit Kentucky and five other US states just two months after a 7.2-magnitude earthquake hit Haiti, while the eastern United States and Canada on the Atlantic were hit by Category 4 Hurricane Ida, The Washington Times recalled.
In an interview with CNN, Dianne Criswell, an official with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), said the organization is preparing to deal with similar severe weather events.
The recent tornado killed 94 people and injured hundreds.

Climate change - the crisis of the 21st century
“This is going to be a new reality, and the impacts of climate change are the crisis of our generation,” Criswell said. “We will continue to work to mitigate these impacts, prepared to help any area affected by one of these natural disasters.”
It should be noted that strong tornadoes are extremely rare at the end of the year, and before that December is usually considered a calm month.
"Tornadoes still happen in December, which is not unusual, but I don't think we've ever seen a tornado of this magnitude happen this late in the year," Criswell said.
While global warming has made tornadoes more likely to form, it is ultimately difficult to link their occurrence to climate change, according to climate experts. They say the process of turning a thunderstorm into a tornado involves a complex combination of factors. Meanwhile, President Joe Biden has pledged to task the EPA and other federal agencies with investigating the link between tornadoes and climate change.
