Song Lam Cement Factory - New mark

(Baonghean) - A massive project with many construction items constructed at lightning speed within 15 months has produced the first products of international quality. That is Song Lam Cement Factory under The Vissai Cement Group. Coming into operation soon, the factory has created a new mark, accompanying the socio-economic development of Nghe An.

"Lightning speed" construction

In late November 2016, Song Lam Cement Plant completed the firing of 2 Clinker production lines, officially entering the production phase after 15 months of construction. Notably, the first tons of Clinker products of the plant were released from the kiln.

Mr. Dinh Quoc Quyen - General Director of Song Lam Cement Joint Stock Company excitedly shared: "In the first days of December 2016, over 50,000 tons of Clinker from Song Lam Cement Factory produced in Bai Son Commune, Do Luong District (Nghe An) were released to the market.

This joyful year-end event opens up new signals for the following years, and at the same time shows the determination of the entire Vissai Cement Group in putting the new factory into operation soon, both to improve the production capacity and supply of Clinker and cement of the group, and to contribute to the economic and social development in Nghe An province.

The groundbreaking ceremony was held in February 2015, in the context of many difficulties in the domestic and international economy, but The Vissai Cement Group has focused on mobilizing resources, urging contractors to speed up the construction progress. To mobilize capital and import equipment for the construction of the factory, in addition to domestic credit units, The Vissai Cement Group also signed contracts with partners from the Federal Republic of Germany, Japan... thereby ensuring timely financial resources and more than 50,000 tons of equipment for the factory imported on time. Therefore, from the time of receiving the site as an empty land, from July 2015, construction and installation work began to be deployed, until the factory went into operation, it took only 15 months of construction.

During a meeting with provincial leaders in mid-November 2016, Mr. Hoang Manh Truong - Chairman of The Vissai Cement Group affirmed: "We determined that putting the factory into operation soon will quickly recover capital for reinvestment. Therefore, the group has mobilized nearly 13,000 billion VND to build a cement factory in Bai Son commune (Do Luong), with a capacity of 4 million tons/year; at the same time, investing in building a cement grinding station and an international port in Nghi Thiet commune - Nghi Loc for ships with a capacity of 70,000 tons to load and unload Clinker and cement for export in 2017...".

Projects with great influence

Song Lam Cement Plant Project is one of the key industrial projects of the country and Nghe An province. The early operation will promote the potential and advantages of the province, creating a breakthrough for the local construction materials industry. This is one of the important projects contributing to Nghe An's successful implementation of Resolution 26 of the Politburo, building Nghe An into a political, economic and cultural center of the North Central region.

At the time when The Vissai Cement Group invested, comrade Ho Duc Phoc - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee at that time, now the State Auditor General of Vietnam emphasized: "With the investment of the group and when the factory comes into operation, it will have a great influence to further develop Nghe An's economy. The Vissai Cement Group's Song Lam Cement Factory will greatly contribute to connecting the region between Do Luong and Nghi Loc with neighboring localities, effectively serving the economic and social development of Nghe An...".

The project's spread is also demonstrated through the creation of jobs for over 2,000 workers, with priority given to recruiting workers in Nghe An and creating jobs and income for thousands of people participating in satellite services. Once operational, the factory will produce high-quality cement products, serving island projects, national target programs, combating climate change and exporting to international markets.

Because of that importance, during the implementation of the project, relevant sectors and localities of Nghe An province actively accompanied The Vissai Cement Group in site clearance, providing clean land for construction; coordinated well to ensure security and order in construction and operation of the project; at the same time, the entire political system in Nghe An joined in to speed up the D4 and N5 routes to serve the transportation of raw materials and products for Song Lam Cement Factory.

“According to the plan, in 2017, when the Song Lam Cement Plant, grinding station and Nghi Thiet Port are operating stably, the Group will immediately start investing about 10,000 billion VND more to build and install phase 2 with the 3rd and 4th production lines, bringing the total capacity of Song Lam Cement Plant to 24,000 tons of Clinker/day. At the same time, the Group will strengthen its connection activities with units and localities in Nghe An province in social security work to accompany sustainable development”, affirmed Mr. Hoang Manh Truong - Chairman of The Vissai Ninh Binh Cement Group.
