White House unexpectedly releases Trump's tax information
US President Donald Trump earned $150 million and paid $38 million in taxes in 2005, according to a surprise announcement just released by the White House.
According to CNN, the information about Mr. Trump's taxes was announced by the White House just minutes before MSNBC announced that it would reveal the personal income tax of the US leader on Rachel Maddow's program on the evening of March 14 local time (morning of March 15 Vietnam time).

With the above income and tax rates, Mr. Trump paid taxes at a rate of 25.3% in 2005.
CNN quoted a White House official as saying that the $38 million above is just a part. In addition, Mr. Trump also paid tens of millions of dollars in other taxes such as sales tax, business tax, labor tax...
In a surprise announcement on the evening of March 14, the White House also said that MSNBC was willing to break the law to run a two-page story about tax refunds from a decade ago due to a "desperate desire to gain high viewership."
President Trump has long kept his personal tax information private, arguing that his lawyers advised him to do so. In addition, President Trump and his aides have argued that the public has little interest in the President's tax returns.
During the presidential campaign, Hillary Clinton and many of Trump’s Republican rivals tried to force the billionaire candidate to release his tax information. However, they did not create enough pressure to force Trump to do so.
