Japanese Emperor and Empress to officially visit Vietnam
From February 28 to March 5, 2017, the Japanese Emperor and Empress will pay a State visit to Vietnam.
Through this visit, the Japanese King and Queen want to demonstrate the characteristics and qualities of the Japanese people so that the Vietnamese people can better understand the country and people of Japan.

Vietnam also highly appreciates and expects this visit to be a great success, thereby contributing to strengthening the relationship between the two countries and contributing to peace, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
During this visit, the Japanese Emperor and Empress will meet with many Vietnamese people, from politicians to businesses, students, artists, cultural figures, and researchers to better understand the people and country of Vietnam.
This visit is also an opportunity for the Japanese Emperor and Empress to learn more about Vietnamese culture and history through visits to a number of historical and cultural relics in Vietnam.
Emperor Akihito ascended the throne on January 7, 1989, as the 125th Emperor of Japan after the death of Emperor Hirohito (Emperor Showa).
According to the Japanese Constitution, the Emperor is “the symbol of the State and of the unity of the people.” The Japanese people love and respect the Emperor and Empress as well as the Japanese Imperial Family.
