Nhận chuyển gói hàng cấm, giám đốc bị nhóm buôn ma túy đòi 1,3 tỷ đồng
Receiving a parcel for delivery but upon re-checking it, discovering drugs inside, the director of a business called to return the package but was unable to reach him so threw it away to avoid being implicated. However, the drug trafficking group later returned to claim the goods, demanding compensation of 1.3 billion VND.
On October 11, the Investigation Police Agency of Tan Binh District, Ho Chi Minh City announced that it had prosecuted and temporarily detained five subjects, including: Hoang Van Dang (32 years old, residing in District 2); Pham Manh Linh (33 years old, from Thanh Hoa, residing in District 4); Nguyen Anh Tuan (31 years old, residing in Tan Binh District); Nguyen Tai (26 years old, residing in Dong Nai Province, temporarily residing in Go Vap District) and Nghiem Xuan Hoang (30 years old, from Thanh Hoa, residing in Binh Duong) for a series of crimes such as illegal drug trafficking, robbery, extortion, illegal detention, etc.
Previously, at the end of November 2017, Hoang Van Dang asked a woman named Huong to go to M. Transportation Service Company Limited (headquartered on Ba Vi Street, Ward 4, Tan Binh District) whose director is Mr. NKQ (born in 1985) to send a package of clothes weighing about 6-7kg to Hanoi by air.
After reviewing the package, Mr. Q. and his wife, Ms. NTC (born in 1985, from Hanoi) agreed to accept the shipment without any doubt.

Mr. Q. then sent the package to another shipping company to be shipped to Hanoi at the customer's request. However, the next day the package was returned by the partner due to suspicions that it contained prohibited goods. At this time, Mr. Q. and his wife repeatedly called the customer named Huong to ask her to come and pick up the goods but could not be contacted.
After many unsuccessful attempts to contact them, Mr. Q. and Ms. C. decided to open the package to check and discovered a white bag that looked like rock sugar hidden very cleverly in a package disguised with old clothes.
Suspecting that the package was drugs, Mr. Q. and his wife quickly threw it into the canal to destroy the evidence and did not report it to the police for fear of being implicated.
Around mid-December 2017, many people claiming to be from a person named Huong asked to receive the package back.
When Ms. C. said that the package had been confiscated by the police on suspicion of being contraband, many people began to come to the company headquarters to threaten and force Mr. Q. and his wife to pay 1.3 billion VND in compensation for the package.
Faced with threats from these subjects, Mr. Q. and his wife were forced to move the company to another location on Bach Dang Street (Ward 2, Tan Binh District) to hide.
Recently, on September 25, 2018, Dang learned of the new address of Mr. Q. and his wife, so he called Linh and his accomplices to come and control Mr. Q. and his wife and demand compensation of 1.3 billion VND.
After chasing all the employees out of the company, they forced Mr. Q. and his wife to immediately hand over the money or they would be killed.

Not stopping there, they forced Mr. Q. into a car and took him to a house in Sala urban area (District 2, HCMC) and detained him there.
After that, Dang continued to direct his subordinates to rent hotels in District 12 and Phu Nhuan District to keep the victim under house arrest to avoid being discovered by the police. During the process of keeping Mr. Q. under house arrest, Dang also used a knife to stab the victim, causing injury.
Even though Mr. Q. was kidnapped by the subjects, due to their brutality, Ms. C. did not dare to report to the police.
However, from outside sources, the police learned about the kidnapping and planned a rescue.
