Drunk, attacked 2 people in a row to steal a car to sell to pay off debt

On May 20, Long My District Police, Hau Giang, said they were temporarily detaining Nguyen Van Thai (24 years old, residing in Hamlet 8, Luong Tam Commune, Long My District) to investigate the act of "robbery".
Before that, at around 8:30 a.m. on May 19, Thai got drunk and was taken home by his girlfriend. When the two arrived in front of Luong Tam market, Thai pushed a man to the ground in an attempt to steal his AirBlade motorbike, but failed because the victim managed to take out the motorbike key.
Without stopping, Thai used his helmet to attack and steal the SH motorbike of a young man parked nearby.
When the young man tried to take out the car key, Thai grabbed a pair of scissors nearby and threatened him, then stole the car and drove along Provincial Road 930b. When he reached Hamlet 6, Xa Phien Commune, Long My District, he was surrounded and arrested by local people and traffic police.
Through investigation, Thai initially confessed that before drinking, he used crystal meth. The purpose of stealing the car was to sell it to get money to pay off debt.
