What is the duty of a member of the Security and Order Protection Team at the grassroots level?

Clause 3, Article 2 of the Law on Forces Participating in Protecting Security and Order at the Grassroots Level 2023 stipulates: Security and Order Protection Team is a form of organization of forces participating in protecting security and order at the grassroots level, arranged in villages and residential groups.

1. About cstructure of security and order protection team

According to Article 16 of the Law on Forces Participating in Protecting Security and Order at the Grassroots Level in 2023, the security and order protection team includes a Team Leader, Deputy Team Leader and Team Members.

- The commune-level police report to the Chairman of the People's Committee at the same level to issue a decision to establish a Security and Order Protection Team, a decision to recognize members of the Security and Order Protection Team, and it is publicly posted.

- In villages and residential groups that have appointed the Captain and Deputy Captain of the civil defense team according to the provisions of the law on fire prevention and fighting, the Commune-level Police, based on the capacity and professional qualifications of the appointed person, shall propose to the Chairman of the Commune-level People's Committee to consider and decide to recognize them as the Captain and Deputy Captain of the Security and Order Protection Team.

2. AboutnDuties of members of the Security and Order Protection Team:

The duties of members of the Security and Order Protection Team are stipulated in Clause 4, Article 16 of the Law on Forces Participating in Security and Order Protection at the Grassroots Level in 2023 as follows:

a) The Head of the Security and Order Protection Team manages and directs the activities of the Security and Order Protection Team; reports on the situation and results of assigned tasks and is responsible to the Commune-level Police for the activities of the Security and Order Protection Team; assigns tasks to members of the Security and Order Protection Team;

b) The Deputy Head of the Security and Order Protection Team performs tasks assigned by the Head of the Security and Order Protection Team; manages and directs the activities of the Security and Order Protection Team when there is no Head of the Team, when the Head of the Team is absent or when authorized by the Head of the Team;

c) Members of the Security and Order Protection Team perform the duties of the force participating in protecting security and order at the grassroots level under the management and assignment of the Head and Deputy Head of the Security and Order Protection Team;

d) The Head and Deputy Head of the Security and Order Protection Team perform the duties of the Head and Deputy Head of the Civil Defense Team according to the provisions of law on fire prevention and fighting, rescue and salvage.
