Up to this point, 42 reservoirs in the district have all been filled with water, many reservoirs have exceeded the spillway by 0.3-0.8 m, close to and approximately the dam body, of which Vung Trang dam, Nghi Van commune has exceeded the dam body by 0.4 m, causing a risk of dam safety. In this situation, the district People's Committee and related departments have directed Nghi Van commune People's Committee to handle the situation by digging and widening the spillway by 4 m, lowering the dam water level, avoiding the risk of dam failure. Currently, the dam body is basically safe.

Floods also damaged many irrigation and traffic infrastructure works such as the 4.0km coastal defense road from Nghi Yen to Nghi Tien; landslides and serious damage to a number of inter-commune, inter-village and inter-hamlet roads 20km long in Nghi Van, Nghi Lam, Nghi Kieu, Nghi Hung, Nghi Dong, Nghi Yen communes...; nearly 15km of canals in Nghi Van, Nghi Kieu, Nghi Hung, Nghi Dong, Nghi Thuan communes...; the 0.4km long sea dike in Rong hamlet, Nghi Thiet commune was seriously eroded; the dam body of Nghi Cong Bac commune was sunk...

According to the Department of Agriculture of Nghi Loc district, the flood also affected agricultural production: 500 hectares of winter-spring rice were flooded; 800 hectares of corn, 150 hectares of peanuts, 400 hectares of various vegetables; 700 hectares of rice.aquaculture area flooded.

In addition, 16,000 livestock and poultry died, concentrated in Nghi Lam, Nghi Phuong, Nghi Hung communes... Notably, in Nghi Hung commune, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Nhuong's household in hamlet 2 lost more than 6,000 chickens, and Mr. Nguyen Dinh Nhan's household, also in hamlet 2, lost 3,000 chickens.

The District People's Committee coordinates with Nam Irrigation Company, People's Committees of communes to regularly inspect and monitor 24/24 hours at key locations. If necessary, mobilize forces, workers, and materials to handle immediately to avoid the risk of dam breakage.

We also directed the communes to organize checkpoints at flooded roads to guide people and vehicles to pass safely, focusing on Phuong Tich bridge, Nghi My to Nghi Cong route, Nghi Lam hamlet 20 route to Nghi Kieu commune People's Committee, N5 route to Nghi Kieu commune People's Committee; points at risk of landslides such as Rong Nghi Thiet hamlet, Nghi Tien coastal road...).
