Many threatened communes in Quynh Luu have not been determined to prevent African swine fever.

The epidemic tends to spread.

One month after Quynh Luu district announced the end of the epidemic in Quynh My and Quynh Hung communes, from May 14 to June 3, there were 8 more outbreaks in the area in Son Hai, Quynh Bang, Quynh Luong, Quynh Van, Quynh Hong, Quynh Hau, Quynh Tan and Quynh Yen communes; 148 pigs were culled, with a total weight of over 5,766 kg. The epidemic has a tendency to spread widely, with a high potential for an outbreak.

Reporting at the working session after inspecting the blockade work in the communes with the epidemic, the leader of Quynh Luu district said: The district People's Committee has issued an action plan and many related directive documents, organized many meetings to discuss emergency response solutions...

Up to now, the two outbreaks in Quynh My and Quynh Hung have been controlled and have not recurred; the district has directed the establishment of 39 checkpoints to control pig transportation, and spread lime powder on the main roads of the communes...

The district People's Committee allocated 420 million VND from the reserve fund to buy 497 liters of chemicals, 66 tons of lime powder, 10 electric pumps, protective clothing, and gloves to fight the epidemic and distribute them to the communes. In addition, the province also provided Quynh Luu with 1,718 liters of chemicals to distribute to localities to prevent the epidemic.

Many checkpoints do not ensure proper technical procedures.

However, the fight against African swine fever in Quynh Luu still faces many difficulties and shortcomings. Communes have not proactively allocated budgets for prevention and control, and many units have had to destroy the animals elsewhere due to lack of suitable locations, potentially spreading the disease.

At many checkpoints, technical requirements have not been strictly followed; many communes in threatened areas have not yet taken drastic and timely measures to prevent the spread of the disease.

Speaking at the meeting, comrade Hoang Nghia Hieu acknowledged Quynh Luu's efforts in preventing this extremely dangerous and rapidly spreading epidemic. At the same time, he pointed out: Through actual inspection, some checkpoints still have many shortcomings, not ensuring the requirements for epidemic prevention, such as no rope to block vehicles from passing, small pumps, on-duty personnel have not proactively sprayed disinfectants on vehicles, tarpaulins are too short to prevent pathogens... Quynh Luu district needs to continue to direct more strongly to immediately overcome these shortcomings.

At the same time, it is recommended that the district allocate more funds to ensure epidemic prevention work, and increase propaganda on the commune's loudspeaker system as the fastest information channel to reach the people, so that people do not hide the epidemic and do not sell sick pigs.
