'Model' resettlement areas in Do Luong

(Baonghean.vn) - Do Luong district has 5 new resettlement areas, 3 of which are already inhabited. The new resettlement areas have new, spacious infrastructure and houses.

Right from the banyan tree on Highway 7A in Dang Son Commune, turn onto the concrete road for about 100m to reach the resettlement area of ​​the fishing village in Hamlet 6, Dang Son Commune. Here, the solid, quite spacious tiled-roofed houses are located close together in each plot.

In the past, the people here lived all year round in the middle of the river, so they wished for a piece of land to "set up camp". And then, the dream of going ashore of 68 fishing households in Dang Son commune became a reality after many years of waiting. At the end of 2012, these fishing households officially had a place to live on land...

Leaving behind the past is a constant worry every time the rainy season comes, the future ahead is not simply new, spacious houses but also opens up new opportunities in the new hamlet along the Lam Giang river.The local government has created conditions for people to learn a trade and export labor. Currently, most of the children in the village have gone to work in some garment and electronics companies in Vinh, Bac Ninh... Every month, they send money home to take care of their families.

In particular, the students here all go to school, many of them study very well, no longer drifting on the water like before. The houses of the households are also gradually becoming more spacious with new furniture.

Many households in Dang Son fishing village still maintain the traditional fishing profession. Mr. Chu Van Loi - Head of the Resettlement Hamlet said: "The source of income on the river depends on the month, in the season of February, March, April, on average each household catches 7-8 tons of fish/day."

In addition to the fishing village resettlement area in Dang Son commune, the Cau Dau dike resettlement area in Do Luong town has gradually stabilized with quite decent infrastructure..This project includes two resettlement areas to relocate 98 households of the town out of the flood zone.

In which resettlement area No. 1 has planned 76 plots of land. Since the beginning of April 2015, the construction unit has handed over to 76 households of the Town. Currently, resettlement area No. 1 of the Cau Dau dike project in Do Luong district has helped households in hamlet 1 of the town escape annual flooding, gradually stabilizing their material and spiritual lives.

At the end of 2012, to solve the problem of long-term stable housing for 46 households in hamlet 10, My Son commune, Do Luong district to serve the key project of Truong Bon historical relic site located in the commune, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee decided to assign Do Luong District People's Committee to be the investor to build a resettlement area on a 2.3 hectare campus located right in the Northwest of Truong Bon historical relic site with a total capital of more than 20.3 billion VND.

After 3 years of moving to the new place, people's lives have now stabilized. Mr. Nguyen Trong Toan, the village chief and Secretary of village 10, excitedly said: "Up to today, households in the resettlement area have electricity, water, wide concrete roads, and are close to a beautiful relic site."

The resettlement area is divided into 4 rows of houses, each row has about 10 houses, arranged in a straight line. In the future, if developed well, Truong Bon resettlement village will become a place to sell souvenirs, serve tourism and food for visitors.

In addition to the above 3 resettlement areas, Do Luong has been and is implementing the handover of land to people in Dai Son resettlement area and Cau Dau 2 resettlement area in Do Luong town.

Most people in the resettlement area are satisfied with their new housing.
