(Baonghean.vn) - At this time, while most vegetable growing areas are preparing conditions for winter vegetable production, some farmers in Cam Son and Thach Son communes are harvesting early vegetables.

For more than 10 days now, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ha's family in village 6, Thach Son commune has been busier because of the early harvest of mustard greens.

Ms. Ha shared: Her family has more than 2 sao of garden land specializing in growing vegetables, each season has its own type. In previous years, her family and most households in the commune planted vegetables according to the crop calendar, but this year, thanks to understanding the market demand and the weather with more rain than usual, her family focused on plowing the land and planting vegetables early in July to have an early harvest.

Currently, the family's 2 sao of cabbage has begun to yield harvest. Every day, Ms. Ha's family harvests 50-60 bunches of cabbage. After harvesting, the vegetables are easily sold at the market because they are scarce in the market. With the price of 5,000 VND/bunch of vegetables, after deducting expenses, her family earns 200-300 thousand VND per day.

At this time, 3 sao of specialized vegetables of Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoi, village 4, Thach Son commune have begun to be harvested. Quickly bundling the mustard greens to prepare for the afternoon market, Ms. Hoi shared: This year, the family planted the seeds earlier, so the price is higher than every year. Every day, she harvests 40-50 bunches to sell at the market. After deducting expenses, on average, 1 sao of early mustard greens this year, farmers earn about 6-7 million VND/sao. Currently, along with harvesting the mustard greens early, Ms. Hoi's family is preparing the land to prepare to plant winter vegetables according to the crop schedule.

According to the winter crop production plan, this year the entire Anh Son district will plant vegetables, beans, squash and pumpkins of all kinds on an area of 360 hectares, mainly on alluvial and sloping land. Of which, the largest vegetable growing area is still in Cam Son, Thach Son, Vinh Son, Lang Son, and Tuong Son.

Although the season for sowing winter vegetables has not yet arrived, people are currently harvesting early-sown mustard greens. According to people's calculations, mustard greens are easy to grow and care for, with low investment costs and high returns. Once in season, they can be harvested continuously and in many different batches from root vegetables, branch vegetables and stem vegetables. After deducting costs, each hectare brings people an income of 140-150 million VND.
