The tests were designed to ensure that anthrax bacteria could survive the high temperatures of an ICBM re-entry into the Earth's atmosphere. "North Korea, which is starving its own people, has spent hundreds of millions of dollars pursuing nuclear, chemical and biological weapons that could threaten our territory," the Asahi newspaper reported.
The information was released one day after the US announced its National Security Strategy, which accused North Korea of "developing chemical and biological weapons that can be attached to missiles". Previously, South Korea said that North Korea had about 2,500 to 5,000 tons of chemical weapons, in addition to the country's ability to produce biological toxins such as anthrax and smallpox./.
