Russian President Vladimir Putin and FIFA President Gianni Infantino discussed preparations for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar and the legacy of the World Cup held in Russia, the Russian leader's press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.

"President Putin received Gianni Infantino at the Kremlin. The two sides exchanged opinions on preparations for the World Cup in Qatar," said Mr. Peskov.
According to him, Mr. Putin and Mr. Infantino also mentioned the legacy of the World Cup in Russia.
Mr Infantino's plan
Earlier on Monday, the press secretary of the President Peskov announced the planned meeting of the Russian head of state with the President of FIFA. According to the Kremlin spokesman, the agenda of the meeting includes a wide range of issues, from the topic of cooperation with Russia to the World Cup in Qatar to the upcoming World Cup in beach soccer, which will be held in Russia in August. Mr. Peskov also announced Infantino's plans to attend the match between Belgium and Finland in St. Petersburg.
