On July 19, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the Russian economy has recovered to pre-crisis levels. Russian economic growth by the end of the year is forecast to reach about 4%.
Speaking at a meeting of the Council on Strategic Development and Projects on July 19, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the Russian economy has recovered to almost pre-crisis levels.
“Our economy has almost recovered to pre-crisis levels and continues to grow. We have the opportunity to analyze what has been done, how it was done, make appropriate adjustments and seriously allocate resources to this,” Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

Earlier, on July 14, analysts at the Central Bank of Russia said that the Russian economy had recovered to pre-pandemic levels in the second quarter of 2021. In May and June, the country's economy continued to grow. Growth indicators in June were stable or slightly decreased compared to the growth rates in April and May.
Meanwhile, the recent assessment report of the Russian Ministry of Economic Development noted that the country's gross domestic product (GDP) growth in May increased to 10.9% compared to 10.8% in April. The Ministry also announced the continued recovery of indicators in consumer activity.
Previously, on June 29, Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said that Russia's economic policy needs to adapt to the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic and achieve sustainable growth in the long term./.
