Putin fires 11 generals after re-election
In the weeks since his re-election, Russian President Vladimir Putin has fired 11 generals in various agencies, Russian media reported on April 6.

Sputnik quoted a decree published on the Russian federal legal information portal saying that President Putin dismissed 11 generals, including 4 generals of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, 1 general of the Federal Penitentiary Service, 5 generals of the Investigative Committee and 1 general of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
However, the decree did not specify the reason why President Putin dismissed these officials.
Among the generals dismissed from their posts are: Director of the Research Institute of the Federal Salary Agency, Major General Andrei Bykov; Director of the State Fire Service Academy of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Colonel Shamsutdin Dagirov; Minister of Internal Affairs of the Udmurtia Republic, General Alexander Pervukhin; Head of the Investigation Department of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Lieutenant Colonel Igor Napalkov.
This is Mr. Putin's first personnel adjustment since his re-election on March 18.
