"Mr. Poroshenko needs this to start the election campaign," the Russian Foreign Minister explained his view on the incident in the Kerch Strait.
At the same time, he noted that Russia does not oppose the European Union's initiative to maintain stability in the Black Sea.
On November 25 last year, three Ukrainian Navy ships illegally entered Russian territorial waters and were captured.
At the same time, Foreign Minister Pavel Klimkin stated that the Ukrainian sailors detained by Russia are prisoners of war. He stressed that the top priority of the country's Foreign Ministry is now to involve international organizations in the issue of deciding the fate of the sailors.
