(Baonghean.vn) - One of the reasons not to be subjective in the current context is the situation of re-testing positive even though the disease has been cured.

As of the morning of April 21, it was the 5th consecutive day that the country recorded no new cases, the number of people recovered was 215 and it was a rare country with no deaths.

Meanwhile, in Nghe An, there are also positive signs from statistics in epidemic prevention work. Up to now, the entire provincial quarantine area has been empty, all more than 7,000 Covid-19 test results are negative.

However, according to Associate Professor, Dr. Duong Dinh Chinh - Director of Nghe An Department of Health, we cannot be subjective even though the statistics are positive. That is also the reason why the Prime Minister still classified Nghe An in the "risk" group even though up to now, there have been no cases in the province.

The head of Nghe An's health sector said that local people need to continue to strictly implement Directive No. 16/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister, ensuring social distancing, people need to stay at home, limit going out as much as possible, except in cases of real necessity. At the same time, basically stop public passenger transport activities, except for cases of official business, shuttle buses for workers, experts, people in quarantine, vehicles transporting production materials and goods. Limit the operation of personal vehicles and cases of unnecessary going out...
Localities also need to thoroughly grasp and strengthen inspection of social isolation, strictly handle cases of non-compliance with the Prime Minister's direction in Directive No. 16. However, in some localities recently, the number of people on the streets is still high and does not comply with the measures of Directive 16 (Handling 1,057 cases of not wearing masks when going to public places; 83 cases of violating regulations on temporary suspension of business activities for non-essential businesses...).

Associate Professor, Dr. Duong Dinh Chinh said that Covid-19 is a dangerous epidemic, with the ability to spread quickly and widely, so people need to follow the instructions, people still need to wear masks when going out, limit contact with crowded places, wash hands with sanitizer regularly.... When detecting suspected cases of infection, do not panic and immediately report to the hotline of the Provincial Center for Disease Control: 0912.330.451.

One of the reasons why we should not be subjective in the current context is the situation of re-testing positive even though we have been cured. Recently, Vietnam has recorded 2 such cases, including patient 188 who, after being discharged from the hospital, returned home for a while and tested positive again.

Explaining this issue, Associate Professor, Dr. Duong Dinh Chinh said that the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization are studying these cases but have not yet reached a specific conclusion. According to some domestic and international experts, the cause may be due to a number of factors such as the reactivation of the remaining virus in the patient's body; If the patient's immune system has not developed enough to fight the virus or the immune system is weakened after recovery, the previously undetected virus may be reactivated; The virus may exist in a "sleeping" state before being reactivated; The test detects "dead" parts of the virus that are no longer able to infect or spread. Or there may be errors in sampling, sample processing and testing.

Mr. Chinh said that these patients theoretically have the ability to spread the disease to others, although there have been no recorded cases of secondary infection from these cases.
