Breaking up a case, arresting 24 drug criminals
(Baonghean.vn) - On January 4, Dien Chau District Police said that the unit had just arrested 24 subjects for illegal drug trafficking and possession, and seized a large amount of related evidence.
Previously, through the work of grasping the situation in the area, Dien Chau District Police determined that there were many suspects in the area involved in drug-related crimes, especially the group of ringleaders who specialized in supplying drugs to retail outlets, affecting security and order in the area, so they established a special project to fight them.
On December 29, 2023, Dien Chau District Police presided over and coordinated with the Provincial Police Department's Professional Department to successfully crack down on a special case, simultaneously arresting 24 cases and 24 subjects for illegal drug trafficking and possession, seizing 6,400 synthetic drug pills, more than 171 grams of heroin, and 60 grams of crystal meth.
At the police station, the subjects confessed to all their crimes. Most of the subjects resided in Dien Chau district, in which Nguyen Tran Dong (born in 1989, residing in Dien Thanh commune) and Nguyen Van Ly (born in 1981, residing in Dien Chau town) were the two subjects who regularly bought drugs to retail to subjects in need in and outside Dien Chau district.
Searching Dong's residence, authorities seized 1 gun and many knives and swords of various types.
Through successfully breaking up a drug case, Dien Chau District Police have eliminated 3 drug retail points, contributing to ensuring security and order in the area.
