In late December, a delegation of the Russian Federation Community Institute headed by Deputy Secretary Sergei Ordzhonikidze visited Vietnam. The visit was organized at the invitation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, which has cooperated with the Institute for many years. Members of the Russian Federation Community Institute met with the leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi Party Committees, regional offices and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Tran Thanh Man accepted an invitation to visit the Russian Federation Community Institute in 2018 to sign a memorandum of understanding on cooperation, according to a statement on the website of the Russian Federation Community Institute.
"We also invite our Vietnamese colleagues to participate in the upcoming presidential elections - as election observers," said Ordzhonikidze, adding that he had discussed this topic with the Chairwoman of the Russian Central Election Commission, Ella Pamfilova, before arriving in Vietnam.
A number of areas have been identified for the purpose of promoting the exchange of experience in negotiations - social management, anti-corruption, policy on relations between peoples and religions, development of economic relations, cultural and educational exchanges, implementation of agricultural development projects. It should also be noted that "the Vietnamese side is interested in Russia's experience in countering attempts to destabilize the internal situation".
